SEMANTICS, the follow up album to ENTANGLEMENTS 4, explores the stages of grief one must go through following an emotionally challenging period of their life. In no particular order, the stages of grief are explored in each song, expressing the emotions and feelings felt through every stage while remaining true to Imperivm’s unique sound and style. Much like ENTANGLEMENTS 4, SEMANTICS is presented in a more emotionally charged manner, expressing grief while also building upon the lore and continuing to tell the story.
SEMANTICS opens with another infamous intro, the Fight Club scene where The Narrator relentlessly reduces “Angel Face” to a pulp & explains why he felt and did what he did - “I felt like destroying something beautiful”.
Tying all of that into the framed album cover & dated significance of the assassination of Julius Caesar on March 15th, SEMANTICS is a true artistic expression of emotion that the listener is encouraged to feel and relate to.
