The year was 1984 when Pepsi launched a series of adverts featuring Michael Jackson and his famous "Billie Jean". No one had ever merged the worlds of business and entertainment in such a way before. Pepsi's love with music had begun. And it was just what the new generation wanted to hear. Through the 80's, Pepsi continued to appeal to youth with a long line-up of stars: Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, David Bowie, Gloria Estefan and many more. A decade later, legend Ray Charles sang Diet Pepsi's praises with 'you Got the right one baby'. Adding Their talent to Pepsi's musical repertoire, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Shakira, Beyonce Knowles and Black Eyed Peas made sure the new millennium started on an upbeat note. Regionally, Amr Diab, Nawal Al Zoghbi and Elissa lent their unique voices to Pepsi, giving it local flavor. With such rich entertainment history, it was only matter of time before someone had the idea to move into movie entertainment.
We now leave you to enjoy the Sounds of Pepsi's very first movie, starring Haifa Wehbe, Wael Kfoury, Carole Samaha, Ahmed El Sherif, Ruwaida Al-Mahrouqi and Brigitte Yaghi.

JUAN COLE Wrote describing Belaaks "One of the more original Arabic music albums of 2009 was Jean-Marie Riachi’s “Belaaks,” a hybrid of jazz, gypsy, Latin American and other influences performed by some of today’s leading Lebanese singers. The CD exemplifies the role of Beirut in not just transmitting culture between east and west but in achieving creative syntheses that underline the more positive side of globalization.

The title single– “Belaaks” [On the Contrary]- Arab jazz from – Jean Marie Riachi Feat. Rami Ayach & Abir Nehme — is an Arabic version of of the 1947 hit, “Quizás, Quizás, Quizás,” by Cuban songwriter Osvaldo Farrés, which has been covered by many artists, including Cole Porter, Doris Day, Celia Cruz, Samantha Fox and the Pussycat Dolls."
