This whole 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮 situation has got me reflecting...

In 2011 I entered the Movida 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮 International DJ Competition, taking the stage against thousands of entries from 26 countries around the world. Initial stages saw me play across Regional, London & then the UK National finals of the contest.. Winning each of those meant I was headed for Madrid to play in the next stages against each of the country finalists. After playing through several stages, the 26 winners were whittled down to 3 finalists playing it out at Pacha (Madrid) (me being 1 of the 3 😁).

In the end I came 2nd place overall.. But on hindsight this turned out to be the best decision — Winning 2nd place meant that I won not only Pioneer Decks, 20 cases of Corona beer but better yet a trip to Miami for the annual Winter Music Conference (an unforgettable trip that gave so much - Pictures to follow). This entire competition and all that was to follow was such an incredible experience for me & my growth as an artist. Not forgetting all the great people I met along the way (Special shouts to Andrew Milford & Sean Chavarria)

Here is the mix I recorded in 2011 from that competition– The music I was playing was such an inspiring and exciting time for house music with the likes of Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles, Claude VonStroke, Solomun, Eats Everything & more, who were all involved cultivating that infectious "Deep House" sound, re-stirring the rise in house music as we love it today! I literally made thousands of copies of this mix and gave them out on CD's everywhere from London - Miami - Paris - Ibiza - New York.

For that, this mix will always be special to me, so I thought now is the best time to upload and share it with the world all over again (this time digitally) 🌎 You can now Listen to, Enjoy & Share my 2011 mix 🔊

It's ironic because 9 years later, 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮 has made me take a step back, reflect and re-connect with the very essence of my passion for this music - I hope you are all healthy, safe and we head together toward the light (on dance floors all around the world) from all of this.
