I spent most of the summer trying to write something like Losing My Religion.  I think this is the closest I got.

It's a fake night But the light is so right  It's better that I'm doing this Than drugs, right?  I'm getting lost in this drainpipe Please pull me out I don't want to be a burden And I always wait for you  There's no one you can trust anymore I figured that one out years ago  It's a lost cause But you're the boss  We'd better do this Before everyone else finds God  You rode through the darkness for me Consider this, the hint of a century I can't pay attention to your tone I have to wait by the phone A fake night is fine for that  (Whistle Solo)  It's a fake night The light is so right  There's a pushpin Lying on the hallway stairs

I did settle things with your father I nailed together my coffin I hope this makes sense the whole way through I surrendered myself to a lobbyist It was the best line item that I ever made It made perfect sense the whole way through  The dentist was right, Life is okay The dentist was right, Life is okay  There's no one you can trust anymore I figured that one out years ago I'm still alive, but a pair of fives Could cause me to pull the pushpin

My attempt at writing something as good as Losing My Religion.

A failed experiment.  I have to post it to make sure it's bad.
