Searching for my roots, finding my ancestry, and creating an identity is the reason why ROOTS was created.  

The Tupi or Tupinamba culture is an Indian culture that originated in what is now Brazil. The Tupi were the largest of Brazil's native Indian tribes, and they had a significant impact on Brazilian culture and language. These people were semi-nomadic, moving their entire village every five years or so.
One of the Tupi people's most well-known characteristics is their language. Tupi origins can be found in many of the words still used in Brazil today. Tupi is not a separate language; rather, it is a dialect of a language spoken in Brazil. Many tribes in Brazil spoke Tupi, and when the Portuguese and French arrived, they learned to speak the language as well.
