The music contains elements of Chinese Kunqu Opera and is based on a story in Water Margin: The hero Lin Chong was persecuted by Gao Qiu and has escaped to Liang Mountain in a snowstorm without any choice. The music portrays helplessness, anger, and sadness in his inner world, and imitates human crying sound through techniques.

Nina Mix 012 takes us into the ethereal sonic world of Dylan Khotin-Foote, aka Khotin (@khotin). His sound—vintage but never pastiche—is deep and bursting with colorful, emotive textures that come alive on his Nina mix. The Edmonton-based artist has stitched together an hour of mostly unreleased originals, alongside collaborations with Nik 7 and Patrick Holland.

Antanniseven hat mein kleiner Bruder als Kleinkind immer zu "Kastanie" gesagt, das ist mir lebhaft in Erinnerung geblieben. Das Stück ist eine Hommage an meinen Bruder, der wie ich auch Künstler geworden ist!

My little brother used to say Antanniseven to "chestnut" (Kastanie) when he was a toddler, and I remember it vividly. The piece is a tribute to my brother, who, like me, also became an artist!

Agna Rita – many voices, one message - review by Abi Bliss 
All fish weirs on the Thames and the Medway and throughout England are to be entirely removed, save on the sea coast.
You may be forgiven for not immediately identifying that as a line from the Magna Carta, the document revered across eight centuries as one of the icons of British freedom and democracy. But the treaty signed by King John in 1215 was chiefly about restraint. It offered royal subjects freedom through protection, whether that meant limiting the power of the crown to seize property and demand taxes, standardising weights and measures of wine, ale, corn and cloth – or stopping the obstruction of waterways. 
View it from a distance through the foggy lens of history and the Magna Carta makes a fine symbol of liberty; examine the details up close and you discover clauses such as: No-one is to be taken or imprisoned on the appeal of woman for the death of anyone save for the death of that woman’s husband. It seems that freedom is more for some than others.
In contrast, electroacoustic music entices with the promise of a world without limits. Confined only by their own imagination and the available technology, composers can sculpt sounds, synthesise, manipulate and refine them to levels of detail more delicate than any human ear can perceive. They can recreate worlds or shape impossible new ones, bend the laws of physics or, as Jo Thomas did on 2010’s Alpha, merge human with machine into a cyborg future.
In a similar way to abstract visual art and sculpture, electroacoustic music offers listeners – indeed, demands that they exercise – the freedom to interpret. And if composers are rulers only in the most intangible sense and only for the length of each piece, still it is here that they should feel the need for self-restraint, to allow listeners space to build their own houses of meaning around these orphaned sounds and furnish them with individual experience.
Diffused across 22 speaker channels and more than an hour in length in its installation form, Agna Rita is Thomas’s largest and boldest work to date. Even in its stereo CD version, the scope is striking. Yet although at times it confronts and challenges, there are no bombastic displays of power here. Instead, it welcomes in listeners on a human scale.

Alpha Live

This recording of ‘Alpha’ was performed on the 5th of May at the E82 Entr’acte record release event.The artists Lee Gamble, John Wall , Shelly Parker, Oliver Fay , Piers Martin and Sheihk Ahmed all participated in the event.The recording is a 21-minute performance made with digital sound files from the original electronic work Alpha E82.

Alpha Live to Digital Release

The original work Alpha was composed around metaphors of transformation and the ether. Based on the work of Donna Harrway’s Cyborg Manifesto Alpha strives to create a meta-body in digital sound. To release this live recording through the Internet seemed a natural musical and media progression.
These files are available in uncompressed pure audio. This ensures all sonic and spatial qualities are kept extremely close to the original performance. The files are also available for people to share and edit . The MP3’s have no DRM on them.

Program notes: Construction

This performance is an improvisation which works intuitively with the spectral shape of the sounds. It is based on an open form, it’s dynamic range, density and occurrence of gesture has similarities to the original electronic work on the LP. The openness of form allowed me work with the concept of absolute time , changing source material swiftly with no obvious connection to musical events of the past and using pause as a sound event in it’s own right. Real time sound transformations were paramount in this performance as regards to pitch centre’s, noise ratios, grain capturing a sense of a live performance.
