🌃 This song is about driving home alone after something unexpected has happened, and the difficulty of trying to wrap your mind around the new normal. Shock, disbelief, and sadness all swirl around your head and heart. There is also a deep grief and denial that hits, depicted by the cello solo (starts at 1:12).

My grandfather once worked on a pilot boat. Although I never met him, every time I see a pilot boat at the ocean, it gives me many different emotions - wanderlust, longing and some kind of a special connection. For this release I recorded my accordion for the first time which recently joined my instrument family.
