This is the debut solo album of twelve of Joanna Finch's original songs, released in 2006 under the independent label, Jobird MUSIC, distributed by Roadhouse Records. All songs were written by Joanna Finch with some arrangements and compositional additions by Pat Coleman. This is a vocal improv, recorded on Garage Band, of authentic, freeform voice. It is inspired by the sacred feminine, 'Aphrodite' character, used as an example in a Women's VocalEase workshop.

This is a wild, raw, authentic vocal improvisation based on the image of Kali, Hindu Goddess of creation and destruction. It is an example of authentic voice used in the VocalEase workshop, "Kali loves Aphrodite."

A ska style song about the joys of riding a bike. I wrote this song to express the deep contentment I feel when I escape into bliss on my bike. Dance!

'Cumberland Snow' was inspired by the stillness of a winter day in Cumberland and the image of kids sledding down the local coal hills. This song was recorded for the Valley Christmas Album in 2006 as a fundraiser for the Cumberland Community Forest. It features songwriter Joanna Finch on vocals and arranger Sean Mooney on piano.

Recorded in Beijing, China May 2017 at Pro Soul Studios with Ezra Kliewer,  Daniel Castelle and Kay Yung, for The House of I.

First written in 1993, this song about our connection to all living things through LOVE, was inspired by the Summer of Protest at Clayoquot Sound, Vancouver Island, BC. where I was arrested for blocking logging trucks.

We Are One

Bare Branches is a metaphor for the time when a love relationship fades. I wrote this as a tango because it is such a romantic and dramatic form. I love the guitar-  Ron Thompson played a Maccaferri guitar on this track. I also love Jesse Zubot's violin solo. This song was recorded in Nanaimo BC Canada at Pacific Studios with Rick Salt on the knobs.

When I Fall is the opening track on my debut solo album, In The Arms Of Morpheus. This ballad features the lovely piano accompaniment of Miles Black from Vancouver BC, Ken Lister on bass and Buff Allen on drums. While creating this dreamy song I felt the power of love channelled through the Muse.

The 12/8 feel laid down by Buff Allen helps to convey the feeling of the train  reference. I love Jesse Zubot's violin solo; he expresses the sadness of the story so it touches my heart. And John Reishman's mandolin solo keeps the feeling of hope going. This song is one of my personal favourites and still brings tears to my eyes.

This original song is about the offering and withdrawing of love. Written in French, the metaphors of a delicate flower and a bird that cannot be held for long till she must fly, are woven into the bossa feel, which creates a sensual story of elusive love. James Lambert plays a passionate guitar solo to accompany Joanna Finch's sultry vocals and flute playing.
