Ascend is the next chapter of the journey!

This one started in 2020 as a casual song with an interesting rhythm. Before the New Year's Eve, I returned to it. It was a pass between years, an ode to a hopeful new year.

In 2022, I had my first flight, that's when I took the picture. Back home, it reminded me of a song I made called "Ascend". There is a beautiful symmetry between this experience, and this song which now captures it perfectly.

We can take a step back and observe the world around us. There is plenty to be thankful for...

Same track called "Drum Machine" but using a modern "heavy limited" mastering that I am not too crazy about...but hey! some people like loud stuff without turning the volume up, there is quite some dynamics lost but you can also hear anything even at low volumes or with ear buds.. :)

This week’s i-DJ comes courtesy of Nottingham-born, Leeds-based Timbah. With a name like a dating agency for logs, Timbah peddles a fine line in dizzying sonics that fall just on the right side of wacky. Beloved by the likes Toddla T and Mary Anne Hobbs, he has a new EP, the anime inspired Slimey Makoto, out today via Sheffield’s Bad Taste label (home to Walter Ego, Slick Don and a heap of other grime-cum-whatever producers), and to celebrate, we said, “Hey, Timbah, why don’t you make us a mix already??”. He did and here it is.
