-このミックスはどちらでどのように制作されたのですか？


今回のミックスは僕のベットルームで録音したんだ。
子供の頃にカセットデッキでDJミックスの真似事を始めてから、しばらくしてガールフレンドにレコードでミッ
クステープを作ったよ。僕は2001 年頃に自分のDJミックスを"pogosessions"と名付けて作る様になったんだ。
2005年位からAbleton Liveを使う様になってその時のDJミックスは実際にCDとしてリリースされた物もあるよ。
最近の”pogosessions”はコンパクトの soundcloudで聴けるよ。DJミックスでは僕の作る音楽のインスピレー
ションとなるし、実際にクラブでDJプレイする為の準備になるん だ。


-このミックスのコンセプトがあれば教えて下さい。

聴いてくれる人と一緒に僕自身も楽しめる、コンパクトから新しくリリースされるテラノヴァの新作と友達のト
ラックをミックスしたよ。時々昔のクラ シック・チューンも入れてカット＆ペースト、レイヤー、、破壊と再
構築だね。


-最近の活動を教えてください。

新しいアルバム「Restless」をリリースするよ！
去年の夏にコンパクトのミヒャエル・マイヤーが２枚目のアルバムを作ろうと提案してくれて、リリースする事
になったんだ。その依頼を受けた時は、 同時に映画の音楽も頼まれていてあまり時間的な余裕も無かったんだ
けど、映画「インターステラー」を観に行ったらアルバムに対するモチベーション が一気に上がってきて2カ月
でこのアルバムを完成させる事が出来たんだよ。嬉しい事にアルバムのトラックは既にDJヘルやスヴェン・ヴァ
ス、ウエ ストバム等の友人DJにとても良いフィードバックを貰っているんだ。僕らの仲間のシンガー達も沢山
招いているよ。今回のアルバムも、これまでの僕 等のアルバムと同じくNASAのケプラーミッション（銀河系の
なかに地球型惑星がどのくらい存在するかを探求しているミッション）に強くインスパ イアーされた作品なん
だ。僕らはその新しい惑星に移住して新しいクラブをオープンさせてダンスしたいんだ！


-今後の予定を教えてください。

アルバムにも参加してくれた古くからの友人であるロンドンのステレオMCと一緒に彼の新しいアルバムを制作中
なんだ。新しいレーベ ル”connected"を作って彼をもう一度ダンスフロアに呼び戻そうとしているよ。9月には
今回のアルバム「Restless」のリミックス 作品がリリースされる予定でDJヘルやダニー・デイズ、アダム・
ポート等が参加しているんだ。そして今イギー・ポップとウエストバムの「Iron Music」のリミックスを作って
るよ。週末はいつもクラブでプレイしているし、、、そうそう、明日は僕の家のキッチンでBoiler Roomの撮影
をするんだ（笑）！

Heavy Rotations Vol 1 is Maeve's first long player. Releasing a compilation has long been an ambition of the label, however time was the key component in producing a record we could all be proud of. The best laid plans can often fall by the wayside, having a clear idea of what you want to achieve with a record like this changes constantly as you collect the pieces of the puzzle and try fit them together in a way that makes sense.

As well as the label founders we started by also inviting friends that had already released on Maeve, to contribute to the compilation. This was a good starting point as each of those artists are all quite different from one another so we felt it could produce some interesting results. There was no brief, just a blank canvas to contribute something they felt belonged on the label. It was also super important for us to use this record as a platform for lesser known artists to showcase their work.

So after 2 years of planning we finally have an 11 track compilation together which will be delivered as a triple vinyl in early June. It is a record that developed and changed a lot over that period but now is something Maeve is very excited to share with the world.

On May 19th we will launch the record at Funkhaus Berlin with a line up compiled of those who contributed to the compilation.

As a crucial figure in the history of the thriving Irish dance scene, and a favorite of the When We Dip team since their early formation in Dublin, Ian O’Donovan is an artist innately connected to the XYZ label. In recent years, O’Donovan has shifted toward more melodic and euphoric styles of production, as is particularly evident with his recent presentations of XYZ. Deeper tones and melody-oriented arrangements command the bulk of Still Waters, creating a flow throughout the album that never tires. Early in the album, Run Deep and Sakura melt listeners with pristine quality, setting the vibe for the LP. The Aftermath bring electro elements into the fold, while Sentient City rest upon soaring classical strings.
