First page of a trip journal, a trip to Azores, April 19th . May 16th, 2021.
I return here, Flores, Azores, a second visit to this Island where I feel like being reborn right now. 
I feel the pulsating life, and I harvest the season fruits, working, producing, but also enjoying this wonderful place, to rest and walk.

Let me share this journey with you. Wherever you are, its like you inhabit this Island as well. You just need your will, close your ways, breathe deeply, listen to this melodies, dance a little perhaps, and feel, really feel, feel it all, feel the Whole.

Last page of this trip journal regarding Ilha das Flores and it is celebrated with an amazing woman that happens to live  in Flores (where she's developing an amazing work with a group of people who are helping to reinvent live in Flores with a new sense of community, sharing trough arts, cultural partnership, sustainability and regenerative relation to nature, and other holistic approaches) and that has welcomed us during stay. Nina (check her amazing music at @nina_musicalmas) shares the words with me in this song about being Islands, and Jörg (that you already know as @joerxworx) helps us our mind meet our bodies in this joyful dance with his flute! 
Really happy with the song, the video and even the lyrics (which are mostly improvised in the moment and sometimes can work as loop game :D )

A new collaboration for the first volume of Alumas Visões. This time I had the pleasure to work with Steve Coombes and his amazing improvisational language with his soprano saxophone. 
The track started as a take of Handpan. I was recording a track for meditation programs, and eventually this came up: Steve liked the draft and recorded the sax. I listened to it and added sitar. And here it goes - an infinite point of light

Ecos De Ti

This track was designed for a series of videos and teaser from a retreat called  𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴, in Portugal, organized by Carla Natário and Isadora Migliori. I had the pleasure of playing music at some of the retreat activities and also took care of filming and editing the teasers :)

The flute is played by the amazing Jörg @joerxworx

The retreat, among other things, creates a space where our 3 intelligence centers can coherently be connect. Relating Science to Spirituality, Heart Based Living is a space of deep connection and inner knowledge.

A collaborative project that kicked out in the beggining of the year, when I was pretty much feeling very high on the energy of having a child soon! Now that my baby girl's born so is the final edition of the first volume of SOME VISIONS!

Agradeço

𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐚 is probably the first song that I wrote that made me understand that I didn't only wanted to play instrumental music for meditation and relaxation sessions. I realized that working on music for healing I was healing myself, and needed to express all the doubts, fears, insecurities I felt towards my self, my identity, my choices and my life with others. It's from 2019 it was written on a family caravan near the beach.
Also  this is my first recording 100% made on 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐔𝐩 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐝𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐨𝐬, the place where I rehearse, study and record where I live, in Portugal.

This was born thanks to the universal power of music, thanks to the wonderful connection of love that brings us all together. A collaboration of three artists, 𝗦𝘃𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺@joaomsousa , 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮ú𝗻𝗮 @carauna and 𝗜𝗡𝗥𝗚𝗗@inrgd , that started as a guitar based song by Svayam, and evolved into a fantastic edition job with fantastic beats and dreamy  sounds by Caraúna. Later the feminine energy present on the music already became real with Ingrid's vocals and words.  
Close your eyes, breathe deeply, let your self go in the desert, in space, in the void where we all are the same.

Svayam E Caraúna - No Deserto (Part. Ingrid)

After a long period of self study, and a lot of Sitar practice, I finally have a very modest study of a Raga, Ananda uses a Raga Yaman base to develop a small melody. I found so natural to mix my classic guitar playing, for a simple reason... The past 3 years the way I play guitar was actually an approach to a very drone based and raga like composition, in the search of meditation through music.
When I finally was able to create a base melody and start improvising with its notes I felt this blissful moment, realization, fulfilling... somehow felt deeply connect to the collective mind that has this melodies and harmonies there, ready to be manifested by musicians that study a connection to that enormous origin. Ananda is a sanskrit term that refers to a state of bliss that is quiet different from what we normally believe to be happiness, something beyond what I see myself as, something that brings you closer to the Self. 
I hope you enjoy this moment, it really comes from a pure moment of happiness and connection.

I've been wanting to collab with Ingvar | 𝗔𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗘𝗹𝘄𝗮𝗿 (@agnosturaelwar)  for some time, and I saw this Invitation on a beautiful Playlist he made. Loved the 4 and chose the 3rd to create something.

Remain quite loyal to the original mandolin track, adding some shruti box and synth work on it. Really happy with the drones I managed to build aroud this sounds!
Listening to it makes me feel in the middle of nature, at night, by a fire, gazing at the stars and wondering the origin of all life.

Gazing at the stars | 𝗔𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗘𝗹𝘄𝗮𝗿 and 𝗦𝘃𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺

First track from 𝗢 𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗲 (what unites us) is a new album by Svayam, conceived and recorded as one of his concerts, a relaxation guided by words and music, a soundtrack for a moment of meditation and self-study.
Its structure brings an invitation to a moment to close your eyes, find a comfortable posture, accept the freedom of the first flute notes, to then be wrapped in these sound waves that, even from a distance, unite us, make us closer to the Whole. The disc ends with Sitar, in Raga Yaman, sealed with Bansuri.

𝗢 𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗲 has a physical edition limited to 25 copies, on cardboard painted with intuitive watercolor.

Inner Voice (Live)

It starts with a guitar piece. 𝗪𝗼𝗱𝘄𝗼 creates this ethereal guitar loop, creating this cicle of emotive fluidity. After some work on this guitar loop (doubling, warping it to 5ths or 3rds), 𝗦𝘃𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺 feels the call to record some Sitar, inspired by this cyclic swril of notes, helping him reach this blissful state with how sounds come together. And like a cherry on top of a cake (vegan one, please) 𝗷𝗼𝗲𝗿𝘅𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘅 just flys over this amazing scenery, blowing the most sweet notes, bringing a jazzy feeling to this priceless meditation.
I am so happy to share with you one of some collaborations that started with em and Wodwo, and especially to start sharing this one.

João 𝗦𝘃𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺, is a multi instrumentalist, music producer and yoga student / teacher. Connected with the term singer-songwriter but also diverse genres, such as music for meditation, electronic, trip-hop, ambient, free form music, and others.
Lover of nature, passionate world observer, into spiritual questioning and meditation practices.

 Music is one of multiple ways of living fully, being whole and complete, immersed on the vastness of the world. At each music note we can redeem something more from our essence, spread it, echo it, give, receive and be. Svayam is a moment of meditation guided by sound, and it’s offered as an opportunity to be who we really are, to take from the inside what escapes our instant and automatic sensibility. João Sousa guides this voyage - personal, but collective - with a guitar, voice and bowls.
Each body touched by sound is a moment of unique love,
an inexhaustible source of energy. To create with sound is to open doors to the earth, to touch the water, feel the air and transform with fire… For a moment we understand the act of creation, we are that moment, undulating in the ethereal, taking off from matter. Each time Svayam happens, we connect profoundly with humankind, with life, with the cosmos. Let us be all and nothing, here and now, everyone and none.
