After a period of notable absence, Joaquin Pardo, known artistically as Dope Art, returns with his latest musical project, entitled "Reflejos del Pasado". This EP, composed of four tracks, emerges to light after several years. The work is imbued with a dark atmosphere, full of glitches and textures that give shape to a musical concept that encapsulates the minimalist essence of the Dope Art project.


A1. Hai:
Initiating the sonic journey, "Hai" plunges us into a dark trance, designed for the dancefloor. The amalgamation of hi-hats and an intricate pattern of breaks in the kick leads listeners through a hypnotic journey, backed by the track's unique ambience. The introduction of glitch sets adds a layer of complexity, creating the perception of controlled chaos coexisting with harmonious structure.

A2. Isz:
The second track, "Isz," presents itself as a more direct but equally captivating experience for the listener. A steady bassline underpins the musical journey, while progressive layers of percussion intertwine. After a few minutes, we dive into a pad that adds a mysterious touch, taking us into the emotional depths of the track. The precise structure of "Isz" reveals layers of sonic complexity, enriching the listening experience.

B1. Sasa:
On the B side of the EP, we come across "Sasa", a track that sustains itself on a single note throughout its duration, but surprises with unexpected changes. The piece is constantly evolving, guiding listeners through an infinite sonic journey. The meticulously designed percussions are the protagonists, creating an enveloping sensation. The underlying purpose of this track is to transform monotony into a captivating element, generating an irrepressible desire to remain immersed in its sonic universe.

B2. Raros Ratos:
The EP's finale comes with "Raros Ratos," the oldest track of the four. This delicate and sophisticated track reveals a drier approach to percussion, accompanied by stabs that evoke the characteristic dub sound. Minimalism is the keyword of this track, confirming its position as the perfect piece to conclude this intriguing musical concept.


In "Reflections of the Past", Dope Art not only presents a musical return, but a complete sonic experience that invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world of minimalist complexity and to discover the nuances of each track.
