Exhibition Auftischen

Ich war noch Beate-Jungfrau, als ich am Sonntag barfuß über die flauschigen Teppiche trat. Es war erst halb acht, doch die Party war bereits in vollem Gange – @ghostofher und @ditolove begeisterten die frühen Downtempo-Lovers.

Die Freude und Dankbarkeit, hier spielen zu dürfen, wuchsen noch ein Stück. Um 23 Uhr war es dann soweit: Die Feierei lief dank @lucamusto auf Hochtouren, als ich die Decks übernahm.

„Oh shit...“, schoss es mir durch den Kopf. „Die ersten Tracks meines vorbereiteten Sets sind zu langsam und zu energielos für diese ausgelassene Stimmung.“
Doch ganz im Gegenteil! Die warmherzige Crowd schätzte den Stil- und Tempowechsel beim Aufbau des Sets und feierte mit Hingabe, bis es 2 Uhr schlug.

Vielen, vielen Dank an alle Tänzer:innen – eure Energie hat mich umgehauen! Ein großes Dankeschön an die Beate und vor allem an Julia, die Mut bewiesen hat, mir als Frischling diesen Slot zu geben.

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Ich bin Jonas Fasching und ich komme aus der Schweiz, genauer gesagt aus Bern.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Bei früheren Home-Partys bereitete es mir immer eine riesen Freude mit meinem iPod den Gästen Musik abzuspielen. Irgendwann wurde mir der iPod zu limitiert und ich tauschte ihn gegen Plattenteller ein. 

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert? 
Die treibende und technoide Seite des Downtempos.

>>Welcher Moment deines Künstler:innentums hat dich nachhaltig beeinflusst?
Das erste Mal auf dem Fusion Festival zu sein und diese enorme Vielfalt an Musik zu hören.

>>Welche Ziele als Künstler:in willst du noch erreichen?
Die Freude am Musik machen niemals zu verlieren.

>>Was gefällt dir besonders an "langsamer" Musik?
Der Groove hat mehr Platz um sich zu entfalten. 
Auch habe ich beim Produzieren mehr Zeit zwischen den Kicks für Melodien und Harmonien :)

"Mahrak, the Soul Eater"

In the dark ages, before humans mastered fire, whispers spoke of a demon who walked between the worlds of sleep and waking. His name was Mahrak, born from the breath of the first nightmare and the shadow of the new moon.

The ancients said dreams are not mere illusions, but doors. And between those doors lies a crack: the Threshold of Silence. There, Mahrak dwells, hunched over the edge of the waking world, waiting for a soul to awaken before its flesh.

The sages of the Ashen Desert called him The Silent One, for he neither walks nor speaks in the physical world, yet he leaves his mark: the weight on the chest, the feeling of being watched, the echo of a name never spoken aloud.

It is told that Mahrak is one of the Seven Children of Oblivion, born when the goddess of dreams, Nysha, was betrayed and torn apart by her consort. From her scattered pieces came forth beings that dwell in the cracks between worlds. Mahrak was the hungriest of them all.

His cult was forbidden, for his followers sought voluntary paralysis, surrendering themselves through lucid sleep to let him in. They claimed that if one accepted his visit without fear, Mahrak would reveal lost secrets, visions of the end, or the very face of death.

But few returned sane.

Ancient grimoires, bound in slumbering skin, warned:
"Do not summon him. Do not pray to see him. He who gazes upon Mahrak from the bed… has already invited him in."
