Haven't posted an original track for a long while but now I am back. And since Coldplay has announced their "A Head Full Of Dreams" Tour here in the Philippines--with unaffordable tickets, :(--I decided to cover their iconic "Fix You", also because I have found their live performances of the song way better than the original--and more powerful and emotional, too, but still the original studio version is great.

So, enjoy this track!

P.S.: Yes, I modified my vocals a bit in terms of pitch, but it's not necessarily auto-tuned. I still kept my note variations to keep the realism of my vocals. And I recorded them via my Android phone in my room so some soft background noises from neighbors might be heard here (note to self: close your windows).

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall [by Coldplay] (Joboy's Future Remix)

Another new track from yours truly.

Thanks to The Art Of Chill for sharing my remix of Coldplay's "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall".

Story of this track: I have a very close friend who made me listen to "Heal", and boy, that track is so saddening though the message is "save me from this pain", like a second-person perspective of Coldplay's "Fix You" (I also found out that the song was used in the film "If I Stay"). Then since I'm a fan, or perhaps an admirer, of Coldplay, I've been listening to "Midnight", and I noticed that this song and "Heal" sound almost alike, so I decided to mash 'em up, but instead of extracting the vocals out of their original versions, I used my own voice to make this mix as sincere as I can be to her (that close friend who made me listen to "Heal"), and thus, this mix was born.

So, I dedicate this track to her, from the bottom of my heart.

P.S.: worked hard on that vocal harmonizing, though. Vocoder wasn't a good choice for this for latency and performance reasons so Pitcher & MIDI Out became my solution.

I'm going to cover a lot of Coldplay songs, and since there are so many I want to cover, I decide to make a 2 or 3-part EP/album series:

1) Part 1: The Best
-- includes "Fix You" (to be remade), "Yellow", "Paradise", "Clocks", and others well-known by many
2) Part 2: The Best Underrated
-- includes those that are not [always] in the mainstream or most-requested hit lists, like "Everything's Not Lost", "Charlie Brown", "O" (this very track right here), "A Head Full Of Dreams", and others that I will list
3) (possibly) Part 3: The Best Mashed Up
-- mashing 2 of [almost] soundalike songs like "Life In Technicolor II" and "Charlie Brown". Look them up and maybe you'll see why I chose those two.

But since I'd be busy with college, it might take a long time to accomplish these, and/or maybe create another upload here.

Story of the song:
This is about showing love to a troubled friend by helping him/her rise above sadness and pain. Yes, it's based on my experience.

Inspirations:
- Coldplay's "Life In Technicolor II" and "Charlie Brown"
- The Proclaimers's "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)"
