Joby Jay is a soulful and eccentric female artiste hailing from Jamaica with a unique sound and vocal texture. She sees herself pursuing the sounds of reggae music with a fondness for genres like jazz and afro beats, among others. Joby Jay's style has been heavily impacted by artistes like Jah9, Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill, but certainly has not limited her musicality.

Her journey began in the year 2019 and blew up after her performance at Unplgd, where she performed a Vybz Kartel Medley. Joby Jay released her debut single "Big Girl Ting" in December 2019. In the year 2020, despite the challenges, she's managed to collaborate on a Switzerland compilation project, producing a track 'Queen', as well as stepping out to feed her fans through well curated online events such as Kingston Creative and Harry J Live Couch Series. She was awarded the VM Wealth Breakthrough Artiste of the Year 2022 at the JaRIA Awards. She has since released more singles, and continues to make her stamp on the industry touching stages with the likes of Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Nadine Sutherland, Tessellated, Judy Mowatt and Sevana, and more. 

As Joby Jay continue to establish her name and brand in the industry, she says she doesn't just want to write 'feel good and shallow' music for her entire career, but instead she wants to reach people through the gift given to her, as she believes she is a vessel. She also emphasised that her 'Mood' for this journey is that of gratitude.
