This is the acapella version of Sacred Silence that we sang for Taize at St. Rose. We came up with it on the fly and it was most definitely worth sharing with all of you. There is some talking in the background because I recorded it while people were walking into the church. Enjoy! (and yes, that is me on the low part. Weird, right?)

Sacred Silence

This is an original song called "The Innkeeper"

I wrote it to use as a meditation song during mass during Christmas time. There are currently so many songs about the birth of Jesus from the point of view of Mary or Joseph. I decided that I wanted to write one from the point of view of the innkeeper that turned Mary and Joseph away when they were looking for a place to have their child. How would he feel later on, knowing that he denied the Son of God a room at the inn?

The Innkeeper

I've been working on the piano part for this for a couple days. It's not perfect quite yet, but I figured I'd get it recorded and posted before school starts. It's unedited, so you can still hear the clicking of the piano keys if you listen hard enough, but it is what it is.

Norah Jones is most definitely my favorite artist currently and I absolutely ADORE her version of "Don't Know Why", so here's mine! Enjoy!
