In the middle of her heavy touring schedule, Daniela aka NORA EN PURE still finds time to go back to her studio, to produce some new musical weapons for her live- and radioshows and, of course, also to entertain and excite us all with her extraordinary production skills.
Her latest masterpiece is a subtle deep house gem with selected elements of progressive house and, of course, the usual beautiful melodies and chord progressions that make us drift away and just have a good time. LUSCIOUS RAIN starts with gorgeous analog pads, a lush synth top layer and is eventually dropping with a sparkling and catchy arpeggio line and some top notch beat patterns to get right into vibes of a packed dancefloor when Daniela plays one of her legendary shows. The second break introduces the main theme melody that carries on into the main drop and takes us on a musical journey through ups and downs, just the way we expect and love it from a new Nora En Pure track.

A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations series returns for its thirteenth instalment featuring Anjunadeep alumni Kahwe and three debutants in Collé, Rezident, and Shai T & DJ Zombi.

Kicking off the compilation is the Netherlands’ Collé with his ‘World To Come’. Hosting a rich vocoded lead and a chugging bass reminiscent of 80s synth pop, Collé makes a strong nostalgic statement in his label debut. In a marked contrast, British Anjunadeep alum Kahwe presents a textured track in ‘Ai No’, threading oriental samples over a deep driving low-end. 

Combining a warm synth progression with cinematic sound design, Rezident’s ‘Pure’ signals a promising debut for the German youngster. Closing out the EP are Shai T & DJ Zombi, two producers based out of Israel, with their percussion-led piece ‘High In The Sky’. Moulding soaring strings and a full piano progression, the duo’s inviting single alludes to the nearing summer.

Following remixes from emerging Anjunadeep talents Leaving Laurel and Antic & Della, Luttrell presents the second remix package from his recent LP ‘Lucky Ones’, with German duo Digitalism and Australian native Alice Ivy adding to the collection of remixes.

Influential figures of the noughties electro and indie dance movement, Digitalism remixed legendary acts such as Daft Punk, Depeche Mode and The White Stripes. Making their Anjunadeep debut, the pair offer up two reworks of lead LP single ‘My Friend The Sun’. Gritty synths accompanied by futuristic sound design take the forefront in their ‘sound.wav’ remix, whilst their ‘ERROR 404' mix takes the pace up a notch for a pumping club rework.

Stepping onto the scene back in 2016 through Triple J’s coveted ‘Unearthed’ music discovery platform, Alice Ivy has continued to turn heads across her native Australia. Following remixes for Japanese Wallpaper and Vera Blue, Alice now add her twist to Luttrell’s ‘Universal Theory’. Coupling atmospheric melodies with an infectious low end groove, Alice’s remix packs a punch, reworking the original into a peak time dance floor moment.
