Please welcome 'Little Darling', an immaculate slice of glistening progressive house that twinkles and shines with every bit of emotional weight we need after a year+ of lockdowns. Taking a rainbow of arpeggiated chords in the same way many timeless trance records did back in the day, there's a natural, and very gentle, ebb and flow that's driven by the stately kicks, bass line and cheeky flips into breakbeats and tribal percussion.

Espacio Cielo continues its mission to map the constellations of modern dance music with a powerful new entry from TDWS, the artistic alias of American producer Ted Williams. His "Hurricane" EP is a compelling four-track journey that captures the tension of a changing atmospheric front, where the warm, recognisable hues of classic Italo Disco collide with the crisp, charged air of contemporary Indie Dance. This is a release with a dual nature, equally suited for the expansive feeling of a widescreen narrative and the intimate, sweat-drenched confines of a club moving in unison as the night reaches its peak. It’s a confident and melodically rich offering that confirms TDWS as a producer with a clear and compelling vision, with the project receiving a further seal of approval from the label’s curator, Parissior, who contributes a reinterpretation.

Premiered here, the title piece is the undeniable centre of this meteorological event. It builds not from a place of chaos, but from a focused and escalating pressure system of rhythm. Synth lines arc across the arrangement like ribbons of lightning, carrying a palpable, almost aching sentiment at their core. This emotional current is the track’s true anchor, ensuring that the driving beat and pulsing energy serve a deeper purpose. The track’s power arrives from the direct conversation between a forceful rhythm and a heartfelt melody seasoned with just the correct amount of acid, a combination that gives the composition its intense and memorable character.

‘Indenait’ takes the lead with soft guitar plucks, harmonics and stately 4/4 drive that sets the scene for the rainbow of twinkling vapour trails that follows. A crisp, mournful arpeggio then takes the lead on the breakdown, bringing with it a whole new level of heavy heartedness. A sunrise moment guaranteed.

‘Love Attack’ follows suit with a rising sense of palpable urgency and yearning. But this time it’s developed over a slightly pacier, shuffled rhythm that eventually builds into full rolling breakbeat. Backed up with bulbous subs and sinewy acid lines that weave the synth elements together, once again Imbernon drives us into a moving melee of emotions and feelings that explodes on the eventual pay off.

Since its inception in 2016, Alan Fitzpatrick has clearly started something with his imprint We Are The Brave – the selection of artists who have released on the label in the last 2 years shows his dedication to giving a home to the best underground music around for his loyal and dedicated fans. Club anthems come to mind, with tracks like Alan’s ‘We Do What We Want’, Gary Becks ‘Just One More’ and the recent smash hit ‘Poison’ from Croydon’s finest - Skream. 

Portsmouth local and label mainstay Reset Robot has released 2 EP’s on the label back in 2018, and this June he brings us his second highly anticipated LP of his career - ‘Spiral Of Silence’. The release is a landmark one for the label, being the first album for We Are The Brave. 

“With we are the brave approaching its third year of existence. It was inevitable that we would soon be approaching album territory. Personally, I can’t think of anyone better to kick off this milestone event than Reset Robot” – says Alan 

As with his first album, 2014s ‘Let Your Soul Outside’ on Truesoul, Reset Robot has allowed himself the creative freedom to paint outside of the rigid lines of club music, meaning alongside the dance floor bombs such as ‘Ramp’, ‘Meadow’, ‘Humankind’, and ‘Spiral of Silence’ there are delicate downtempo gems such as ‘Denial’, the sinister movie soundtrack of ‘Ana Strings’ and the epicness of the Nils Frahm vs M83 analogue love match ‘Freq’. 

 “The LP links up with my new Live Set very nicely. The tracks can be broken down easily and incorporated into my set because a lot of the drums and synths are from the Machinedrum and Sub 37. Patterns and patches have been saved along the way, so I can jump straight into my songs in a live environment” adds Dave when speaking about his tour after the LP.



Indeed, there is more than one reference to Reset Robots’ roots with the inclusion of a few old skool breaks tracks; ‘Orly’ which could have easily been lifted from Moving Shadows back catalogue. “His talents in the studio are far superior than most electronic music producers out there” says Alan.

‘Are You Ready’ features a nod to the vocal treatment of mysterious post dubstepper, Burial, and closing track, ‘Believer’ drenched in Detroit Electro folk lore with a UK twist.

“This album really showcases his talent and I think it provides a great blend between club bangers and headphone listening alike. We Are The Brave are extremely proud to present this body of work to the world” – adds Alan.

Vivrant's third release of the year follows up on the remix debuts from Hunter/Game and Locked Grove, and gives us a return from Jeremy Olander with melodic retro stomper 'Steps'. 

You don't know how much you miss something until it's no longer there, and never have we missed the inside of a rammed club as much as when we listen to 'Steps'. This uplifting, happy-go-lucky body of work with a distinct 80s retro vibes features Jeremy's trademark thumping energy and suspense that we know and love.
