Way Out West (a.k.a Nick Warren & Jody Wisternoff) present their new studio album - ‘Tuesday Maybe’ - to be released on June 16th on Anjunadeep (“One of the hottest electronic labels in the world” - Hype Machine).

The pioneering duo have forged a reputation as as one of the UK’s most influential electronic acts in their 25 years together, reaching the Top 20 of the UK’s singles chart, touring their live show globally, and remixing the likes of Orbital, Unkle, James Holden, St. Etienne and Ian Brown.

In addition to their impressive collaborative back catalogue, the duo are both internationally renowned DJs in their own right. Nick runs the influential Soundgarden label and has helmed eight instalments of the iconic Global Underground compilation series. Jody released a solo album on Anjunadeep in 2012 and has since mixed the last four editions of the labels much-loved compilation series, all of which have topped the iTunes Dance Album chart.

They now return as Way Out West with ‘Tuesday Maybe’ their fifth LP, and their first in almost eight years.

Known for fusing elements of breaks, techno, trance and progressive house, Nick and Jody again combine wide-ranging influences on their new album. Title track ‘Tuesday Maybe’ has become something of a cult favourite since it’s release in early 2016, it’s haunting melody and rolling low-end becoming a firm favourite for the likes of Pete Tong, Lee Burridge and John Digweed. Parisian legend I:Cube worked his magic on an atmospheric remix that was supported by Mano Le Tough, Ricardo Villalobos and Maceo Plex.

Across the LP we hear a contemporary take on classic Way Out West elements, from raucous basslines and ravey breakbeats on ‘Set My Mind’ and ‘Slam’, to warm melodic deep house on ‘Lullaby Horizon’ and ‘We Move In The Dark’, featuring vocals from Hendrik Burkhard. The duo collaborate with five vocalists on the album, including label-mates Eli & Fur on opening track ‘Running Away’, and former Solomun collaborator Liu Bei on ‘Oceans’.

Released alongside the announcement of the album, ‘Oceans’ is a trademark piece of emotive dancefloor music from Nick and Jody, pairing textured melodies with haunting vocals.

Throughout 2017 Way Out West bring their well-honed live show to venues large and small across North America and the UK, with a notable performance at Glastonbury Festival in June the week after the album’s release.

‘Tuesday Maybe’ is set to be the eigth artist album to be released on Anjunadeep, an A&R hotbed celebrated for the release of debut LPs from Dusky, Cubicolor and Lane 8. With nearly 300 single releases and a string of iTunes #1 albums and compilations under its belt, the label has distinguished itself as one of the scene’s leading imprints, earning glowing coverage everywhere from Resident Advisor to Pitchfork, whilst receiving heavy support on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, B.Traits and Phil Taggart.

Finnish phenom Movement Machina returns to Silk Music after his brilliant "Haunted" EP (feat. Mia Suszko). This release, "The Flame," features two distinct and imaginative deep, progressive house cuts.

The title cut takes off with a deep and haunting groove, where numerous background synths, as well as the strong percussion elements, create an energetic atmosphere. A unique male vocal is one of the unique and memorable features of this song, which fits the soundscape perfectly.

In "Scars," a soothing atmosphere is quickly established, featuring frisky percussion lines and intricate piano notes in the background. In the break, we witness incredibly soothing sound effects, and throughout the song, the listener is continuously subjected to outstanding synth craftwork.

Three records taken from Jian Kellet Liew a.k.a Kyson’s internationally acclaimed 2016 album ‘A Book Of Flying’; ‘A Song About The Future’, ‘Flightless’, and ‘You’ receive three fresh reworks, marking the Anjunadeep debut of the Australian born, Berlin based vocalist and producer. First up ‘A Song About The Future’, the original, a stunning contemplative vocal number from the LP, gets a textured underground rework from fellow Berliner and Kompakt affiliate, Dave DK, who returns to Anjunadeep following his memorable 2014 remix of Vincenzo. Next, Anjuna mainstay Jody Wisternoff and label boss James Grant put their distinctive deep house touch on ‘Flightless’; a familiar moment from the pair’s recent iTunes Dance #1 album ‘Anjunadeep 08’. Braxton makes a welcome return to renowned imprint Anjunadeep with double A side ‘Torn/Chiaroscuro’, out May 20th. ‘Chiarascuro’ was released on the label’s Vol.11 compilation and has been lauded as one of the best tracks of the year so far. 

Accompanied by the fresh, unreleased track ‘Torn’, this perfect summer two-tracker confirms Braxton as one of the hottest UK talents on the electronic music circuit. 

Since his debut on Anjunadeep with ‘When the Sun Goes Down’ in 2019, he’s established himself as the tastemaker’s favourite and remixes for the likes of RUFUS DU SOL, Tourist and GRADES have previously won the support from BBC radio royalty. 

‘Chiaroscuro’ brings back breakbeat with a 90s inspired sound perfect for clubs and headphones moments alike. It plays with layers of sound and shifting synth textures for the ultimate uplifting vibe. 

In ‘Torn’, the chilled vocals of Brighton newcomer Danni Wells tell a tale of heartache, whilst subtle cello lines meet soulful chord progressions to create a dreamy warm-weather hit. 

Speaking on the double A-side, Braxton explains “‘Chiaroscuro’ is about contrast. That’s the theme in a lot of my music, melodically and sonically, I try to find a balance between darkness and light. ‘Chiaroscuro’ means the contrast between light and shadow – and the track was inspired by a world that exists between two opposing states. 'Torn' is a pure, moody progressive house record. I was in a darker place when I wrote it, which the tone of Danni’s voice really suits – it’s a good track to get lost in.”
