META015 is  a beauty and the beast affair, fantastically executed in the great tradition of Metalheadz.
Kicking off with ‘Hungry For Atmosphere’ this stepper is a perfect set opener, heartfelt strings and keys give way to contorted mids and FXs, whilst the familiar vocal is processed into something altogether more sinister. The track clocks at just over 7 minutes and this says everything of the tracks ambitions, not pandering to anything but its own journey.
Next to step into the ring is ‘A Certain Flavour’ the opposite but yet perfectly paired track to go with the A side. Beginning with a very cinematic introduction it unravels into a growling bass led stepper with staccato drums before switching into a two-step drum work out, tailor made for dancefloors and DJs alike.

A release that we are very happy to kick 2014 off with, welcome to the new breed!

Teaming up with DLR one of the scene's hottest technical producers, the mighty "New Design" was born at the end of last year, smashing clubs all over the festive season, a great follow on for fans of their last co-lab "Murmur".

The dub style "Dem Babylon" rounds off the record with a different down tempo flavour from Break showing his dubwise musical skills.

Mako has his first full outing for the Headz camp via METH XX. Meth XX is the fertile breeding ground for new Metalheadz artists that gives them a chance for to express themselves with the music they are making right now.
Enter Mako.

'Tell Me Something' was first aired by Goldie high up in the London skies for the Metalheadz X Red Bull London Eye event and instantly rewound. The track takes a creative drum pattern and edges forward with mutant bass and space age pads very much reminding of bygone Headz tracks, breaks and edits keep the track popping through its course.

Duck For Cover launches you in with precise rolling beats and filmic tense atmosphere. A breakdown of pulsating elastic synth mixed with soulful vocal licks drops you into a stomping drum and bass workout. Featuring Break's trademark bongo rhythms and chugging bass, as the words of warning suggest, one should Duck for Cover.

Debuting his first solo track on Symmetry, Fields comes with a new twist on his eclectic sound. Featuring a complex puzzle of interlocking drum machine hits and grizzly bass, this intricate but rolling groover delivers a killer combo of funk and tech.

When new music drops into the inbox from Nymfo for Dispatch, we know it’s not something to take lightly. Following on from his huge “Recollection / Desert Heat” single, this is no exception and the Flying Dutchman has pulled it out again for us.

“Coming Through” opens the proceedings, as a gem of the deeper elements. Crisp drums confidently flank, but the warm, inviting bassline steals the show. Gliding elegantly across the dancefloor, it lures you in with developing layers of persuasion.

Things get a bit more technical in “Survivor” as Nymfo teams up in collaboration with Detail, for a razor sharp percussive assault. Dramatically leading in with majestic pads, the techy drum work of the main body is separated by a deep cinematic breakdown.

Last, but by no means least, “Tower of David” ties things up as a digital exclusive for the single. Twisted bass textures terrorize, whilst remaining composed and almost nonchalant, sewing an element of funk into the track. Bound to catch you off guard!

Travelling the world from NZ to UK and reflecting on his experiences, Cern releases his second album “Under Another Sky” on Dispatch Recordings. Captaining an enthralling quest into his creative sphere, this project encapsulates a wide breadth of influences, delivering an all-rounded album that is both diverse and quality in substance.

Cern exercises total freedom across tempos and genres to map out a complex blueprint of his own fictional world; welcoming you to drift off into its atmosphere. As the novel unwinds, “Under Another Sky” delves deep into the senses with seamless transitions; from the progressive amen curiosity of “Infinite Exchanges” through to the off-kilter, abstract forays of “Human Dynamics” and serene instrumentals of “Blumei”.

The LP features a 15 track digital album, hand-picked and arranged to enhance the listening experience, rather than catering or targeting to dancefloor crowds. Vast soundscapes and solo instrumental pieces assimilate with sub-bass pressure to complete an all-encompassing listening experience from start to finish.

Amongst his own solo ventures, guest artist collaborators join Cern to explore the full spectrum of the D&B edge. Rolling early on with DLR for groove ridden “Patterns” and later met by the emotive depth of “Those Left Behind” with Hydro, his darker side accumulates throughout the album, as rugged link ups with Loxy, Gremlinz and Overlook cause untold low end damage.

Experimenting with both orchestral and amen elements to contrasting effect, Cern offers a temporary retreat from reality to take you “Under Another Sky”.

Seattle based Quadrant sets the bar high with his first Dispatch EP, entitled “The Microsleep EP”, otherwise known as “MicrosleEP” for short.

Collaborating with different artists on each track, a distinctive Quadrant signature groove strikes the lower frequencies throughout the EP. With fellow collaborators Iris, Kid Hops, Cease, RoyGreen & Protone all bringing their own specialist touches to the mix, the EP resembles a mixing flask from a meddling scientist; collating individual resources and including all the intricate details and calculations to create a lethal strain at 170bpm and up!

Quadrant, Kid Hops & Iris lead the EP with title track, "Microsleep", a dark insomniac that comfortably sweeps through a 4am dancefloor without hesitation. Their very first collaboration on Dispatch LTD “Convergence” receives the remix treatment too, as DLR & Ant TC1 join forces to “Re-Converge” on the original, masterfully tuning up the already malicious hub and re-igniting the drums into a new more stepping, switched-up take on a superb original from Seattle's finest.

Exclusively aired on BBC Radio 1Xtra, the momentous moans of "Genesis Wave" follow soon after, rolling ruthlessly and re-fueling at every break, before a cascading helix of sub-low pressure carries ice cold "Warsaw" into battle. To complete the EP, "Right Now" written alongside talented Austrian duo Roygreen & Protone delivers that final, lethal blow, as arcane musical elements curiously harmonise, only to contrast spectacularly with a pulsating bassline drop that almost blows the lids clean off the speakers.

Gerra & Stone return to Dispatch to join the main label, kicking things up a notch with their “Too Deep EP” dropping this Autumn. Following the huge success of their LTD debut “Backhand / Tenfold”, the Southampton based duo continue to raise the bar. Their first full Dispatch EP features four concrete rollers; each tightly programmed, each packing a punch at the lower frequencies, injecting instant stamina into any discerning crowd.

Title track “Too Deep” swoops down with deadly fervor and venomous low ends that twist and mature throughout, whilst “Long Game” strikes with ferocity and through to the rib cage. Mid-range growls resemble heated alien discourse, as the bass grooving subtly throughout.

Keeping the beats moody and no-nonsense, bongos lightly patter over “Lockdown” and sweet vocal washes argue with jeering and fermenting bass sounds. “Bus 54” strips to more abstract surface noises initially, but possesses a lethal edge that we have come to expect from Gerra & Stone.

The duo from Southampton are fast becoming artists to watch with material scheduled for Ram before the end of the year and another Dispatch release lined up for early 2015.
