I composed this over the last couple of days mostly to play around with some new instruments and plugins, but I ended up liking where I was going with it so I stuck with it till the end. The romantic "Lawrence of Arabia"-esque opening is based off of a motif I composed a couple years ago for another Ancient Egypt-related piece, "Scepter of the Pharaohs," though with some modifications. The piece then transitions to a march/parade-like, rhythmically driven section that keeps building over time; I was imagining some sort of caravan or parade and just rolled with it.

Aside from "Lawrence of Arabia," I of course also drew inspiration from Jerry Goldsmith's score for "The Mummy" (one of my top-favorite Goldsmith scores), as I did with "Scepter of the Pharaohs," but this piece is a little different in that I kept it to a more traditional-romantic style, as opposed to including some odd synth sounds like I did in "Scepter."
