Temporary Sounds Radio Show With CHAUM 006

We are very excited to share with you @christianvoldstad's perception of Far Blue. Christian's mixes that have come straight from the Burning Man Playa, Sisyphos and many other places have intrigued us for years now, and we are proud to have him share his Far Blue concept with us. A real enthusiast of electronic music, blending a focus on the low end frequencies with a melodic, sometimes melancholic touch. This melancholic touch definitely comes out with this interpretation of Far Blue titled 'Lethe', recorded in NYC.

For our third episode, we welcome Powel from Germany. With a career that now spans over a decade, Berlin based artist Powel has continued to delight organic house aficionados with his releases via All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Do Not Sit and more. As a favourite of the genre's tastemakers, Powel made his Sound Avenue debut in 2019 with a gorgeous rendition of 'Pearl' by Paula OS. A groovy yet impassioned take on the track that earned praise from Eelke Kleijn, Nick Warren, Modd, Roy Rosenfeld and Sasha. 2022 would see Powel make a return to the label with an equally impressive take on Mariner + Domingo's 'I Still Remember'.  Earlier this year he made his third appearance on Sound Avenue with a spirited take on 'Three Glasses of Wine' from about : river

Sound Avenue Mixed 003 - Powel

The 12th episode in our Sound Avenue Mixed series welcomes Pedro Sanmartin. Born in Barcelona but currently calling Norway home, the Spanish artist has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His haunting atmospheric storyboards, exotic percussive arrangements and deep immersive grooves have proved to be club-effective, earning the praise of Hernan Cattaneo, Pablo Bolivar and more. Emerging just over a decade ago, Pedro has taken his far-reaching sound to well-established imprints in Loot Recordings, Tenampa, Univack and Seven Villas, the latter of which has operated as his primary home. Sound Avenue has also been a landing spot for Pedro, with a well-received debut coming in 2019 with a contribution to the label's popular Correlation series, a release which would spearhead a second appearance on the series earlier this year. Now, following his latest vehicle for DP-6 Records, Pedro continues on an upwards trajectory as he returns to Sound Avenue for his first EP project entitled ‘Immersive Experience'.

Anjunadeep Explorations celebrates its one-year anniversary with the release of Anjunadeep Explorations Vol. 1, the first instalment in a new annual compilation series.

Launched in July 2024, Anjunadeep’s newest imprint has quickly established itself as a home for boundary-pushing sounds across the deep and melodic spectrum, from progressive house and breakbeat to deep house and electronica. In the label’s first year, nearly 40 artists have released music ranging from exciting newcomers to seasoned industry names.

Maty Owl, Parallel Voices, Klangsberg, and LAR have all returned for follow-up EPs, while artists such as Chris Luno, Quivver, MXV, and IPeiqi trace their beginnings to Anjunadeep’s original 25-part Explorations VA series, which helped launch the careers of artists like Ben Böhmer, Rezident and CRi. Making their first Anjunadeep appearances of any sort, we had the likes of Keanler Reiny, Mike Griego, artemis orion, and Mike Rish join us. Anjunadeep Explorations has firmly made its mark through editorial support in DJ Mag, Mixmag, and Decoded, a SiriusXM Chill takeover, two vinyl samplers, and a debut label showcase at London’s 93 Feet East in April 2025.

Thank you to all the artists who’ve helped shape our first year, and to the listeners who’ve been part of the journey.

James Grant & Jody Wisternoff: Live From Phonox (5 Hour Set)

Although we are publishing @bonjourben’s set on the first day of fall, it’s certainly more about summer, or rather about the memories it left, which vary from person to person but are nonetheless from the same days, that will keep us warm in winter, springing to our minds and making us smile in secret. Those days will seem so distant but so close at the same time, reminding us of the time when the sun and the moon would replace each other over and over again. Those memories will also be about the days we had last summer and are going to have next year, maybe different for each of us, but still long enough for the sun to unexpectedly wake us up in the morning and for us to be unwilling to go to bed at night.

P.S. Träume [tʀɔɪ̯mə] is a German word that means “dreams”.

For the last two years now, my good friend and amazing DJ, Kevin Hsia has invited me to his studio at Lumpen Radio to discuss music, life, and of course, music! Kevin hosts the Sunday Record Club show monthly and features a vast array music from killer DJs and producers around the Chicago area. This hour of music features some of my favorite sounds that speak to the connection we share through melody, rhythm and groove.
