This is a megamix I did for Ferry Maat's Soul Show when it returned on air on Radio Veronica (The Netherlands) in September 2003. The mix was coded BVD 1002. I used mostly records from the 80s when I was a big fan of the radio show. 

On air host Ferry Maat informed future megamixers that this mix raised the bar pretty high :)It was funny to see that several other DJ's later used the "format" of this megamix as a blue print for their own megamixes. 

The intro and outro of this mix have been taken from my charted hitrecord The Happy Groover - When I snap my fingers.

Today, Alberto 'Albert One' Carpani passed away. His hit song Secrets I've turned into a reggaeton track some time ago, as a tribute to Albert One. It still needs vocals and therefore hasn't been released yet. Normally, I'm not one to share previews of music projects before they are finished. Today, it seems to make sense to share the version without vocals.

Jonathan Joosten, aka The Happy Groover, is a Dutch DJ/Producer based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He has been DJ'ing for over 30 years and started producing music in the early 90s. Some of Joe's commercial chart hits include The Happy Groover - When I snap my fingers, The Scary Groover - Children of the dark night, and Tha Bomb - Tha bomb. His remixes usually stay close to the essence of the original song but made more suitable for (commercial) dancefloors. 
As a DJ he played many national and international gigs, as well as being resident DJ for many years to Utrecht's finest clubs: Filemon & Baucis, Havana, Kosten Koper, Derrick, De Beleving and others. Being experienced and able to feel the vibe on the floor made him a crowd favorite in the clubs where he played. After focusing on DJ'ing for several years, he picked up producing music again in 2017. He has been giving several 80s club classics a more modern treatment primarily to play in his own DJ sets. However, some of these productions are very likely to see a commercial release in 2019.
