I'm happy to share my live recording from Opulent Temple Thursday night/Friday morning at Burning Man 2022.  I had the pleasure of playing after Diplo, Vintage Culture and Marten Hørger. This set was the highlight of my burn; I put together a special Bass House and Tech House set laced with banging remakes of rave classics that got the dancefloor as lit as our fire effects.  It’s always a joy to play at my home camp and have control of the flames at my fingertips. Bump this up loud, share with your friends and let me take you back to that amazing night. DJ ICON Live @ Opulent Temple Burning Man 2022

This is mix was mastered by @Christoph Rumblemunk from a phenomenal night on the dance floor to welcome the changing of seasons from summer to fall. We celebrated in an intimate ballroom with an intentional group of humans. This set was recorded on the main dance floor 1:30am - 3:00am. I hope you enjoy dancing to it as much as I did!

I have spent the last 6 months putting together a mix of bass influenced house.  I have been so inspired by the music which has been released recently, that I felt that I needed to compile a mix of this great music which has given me so much joy. 
 
This mix started when I discovered the song “Vibe Alert” by No Thanks. After listening to this song roughly 100 times, I felt that I needed to find many more songs to accompany it.  Right around this same time, I found out about an artist named San Pacho.  Anyone who knows me well, knows that when I find an artist I love, I start devouring their whole library, studying every song like I am about to take an exam on their sound.  After playing San Pacho’s tracks for a few months, I then made the bold move of reaching out to him on Instagram, asking about his music and praising his sound.  He responded by sending me a library of unreleased tracks, which have been at the core of almost every one of my sets since June.
 
All of this being said, I have put together a mix that I am very happy with.  It has taken countless hours of my time and I consider it the last mix I will be working on for a long time.  While the style may not satisfy all tastes,  I hope you can appreciate the time, intention, and emotion I put into this.  This mix is peak Gene Lee.

Joe Pea is a professional electronic music DJ and producer who is increasingly sharing his passion and talent for music around the world. An incessant fascination with percussion and rhythm led Joe initially to taking up the drums as a child. Upon finishing school he moved on to pursue his passion playing live music with bands in and around the Western US. A chance introduction to electronic music culture in 1999 by a friend, was a transformative moment. Soon after, Joe had decided to put down the drumsticks & started collecting vinyl.

Joe's passion for electronic music has spanned over 2 decades, and has it has taken him across the continental United States as well as Mexico.

Although Joe has fully relocated to the Pacific Northwest, he still maintains his residency at San Diego's longest running House Music weekly, Dance Klassique. A pillar in the Southern California dance community for over 24 years.

Additionally, you can find him dancing and working at music events and festivals all over the U.S., as he is a very strong supporter of the concept of music, fostering community and the dance floor as a sacred space to come together as one.
