Melancholic German singer/songwriter CONNY OCHS has completed his third full-length album, Future Fables, now confirmed for release this February via Exile On Mainstream on February 29th, 2016.

Earlier in 2015, having released Freedom Conspiracy (Exile On Mainstream) with fellow Scott “Wino” Weinrich (St. Vitus, The Obsessed, Shrinebuilder) and completed some touring across Europe, CONNY OCHS returned to the studio at the end of the Summer, once again with producer/engineer/studio owner Thommy Krawallo, with whom his previous album, Black Happy and both collaborative albums with Wino were created in full analog fashion. The Kabumm Studio had just relocated from its historic location in a former East German and Soviet government radio complex in Berlin, to the wilderness of a rural Brandenburg village. OCHS went in with a bag full of sketches and licks, inhaling the raw atmosphere of the surroundings, a yet unfinished house full of instruments and equipment in the middle of nowhere, also trying to find its place. This unstable environment birthed a new start for him, letting in much more than a breeze of fresh air by widening his instrumental repertoire to drums, electric guitars, piano, bass and organ. The lyrics and stories circulate more than ever around people encountered and journeys undertaken over the past years – the album title referring to our tendency to give an unwritten future some kind of tangibility through dreams and visions.
 
CONNY OCHS struck out on his own as a solo musician at the turn of the millennium, after having spent many years fronting heavier bands (such as Zombie Joe, Baby Universal) in his native Germany. OCHS’ solitary venture saw him make a marked departure from the direct sounds of modern rock, letting the influences of revered folk singer/songwriters like Woodie Guthrie, Townes van Zandt, Nick Drake and others inform his firm new direction across the course of multiple solo LPs and collaborations. Alongside his savvy combinations of acoustic and electric guitars, CONNY owns an incredibly natural voice; soulful and dynamic, with a clean style that can bring about absolute joy, or of purely melancholic end-time inner blues. His songs focus on the interplay between storytelling and visions – this he carves into the rough edges of his organic and sparkling music. Keeping his approach pure and from the heart, CONNY OCHS reaches a stark authenticity that draws you in and makes you a part of the music, his travels and struggles, and his search for freedom in life and song.

THE EMERALD DOWN - Perilized

For fifteen years, and over fourteen albums, Darren Hayman has taken a singular and erratic route through England’s tired and broken underbelly.  Influenced by punk through his art college years and then American lo-fi indie in the ’90s he fronted John Peel favourites Hefner. His solo career has earned widespread critical acclaim with his many and varied projects including his Essex trilogy, his Lido album, and recently a project to set the poems of William Morris to music entitled “Chants For Socialists”.

In addition to his solo career, Darren has been moonlighting as the drummer in Papernut Cambridge, the sprawling pop collective led by former Death In Vegas guitarist Ian Button and pals, described by Mojo as “An escapist mix of 70’s glam, Nuggets-psych and 80’s indie, all balancing pop bliss and more sinister psychological depths”. And now Darren has stepped out from beyond the drumkit to record two cover versions, with Papernut Cambridge as his backing band – “I've Been A Bad Bad Boy” by Paul Jones, and “Big, Big Deal” by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.

The Intruders were formed in 1964 by me and Bob "Bub" Evans, a guitarist and singer who lived in an even smaller town than I did. The original lineup was a four-piece consisting of myself on drums and vocals, Bub Evans on guitar and vocals, Terry Predmore (who could actually read music) on saxophone and Paul Crowder playing bass notes on a six-string guitar.

Swoone is the unique combination of seductive vocals from Siobhan De Mare and captivating music by Gary Bruce.

Siobhan De Mare, daughter of Tony Meehan, drummer of the Shadows, granddaughter of the well-oiled gong banger for Rank films, was no stranger to show business when she started her career as a featured artist and backing vocalist for many dance and electronic bands. She was also the famous voice of the Emirates Airline worldwide campaign from 2002-2008. Siobhan signed her first major deal with Chrysalis Records and Universal, with her band Mono. Their album Life In Mono was released on Echo Records and soon entered the UK charts reaching the top twenty. Their hit song Life In Mono was used for the soundtrack of the film Great Expectations featuring Robert De Niro and Gwyneth Paltrow. The album also became very popular in film and television as incidental music including Dead Man Down with Naomi Raspen, and the X Box game, Alan Wake. Siobhan went on to form Violet Indiana with Robin Guthrie, former guitarist of The Cocteau Twins. They released several albums on Bella Union Records, with their music being used worldwide in film and television.

Gary is a self taught non musician and producer, not to mention qualified arborist and teacher! He has had music used in many TV programmes worldwide, including Jamie Oliver's Dream School, USA. He has also had music included in several instrumental albums. His other recording credits include a 7” single released on Andrew Wetherall's, Moine Dubh label, as one half of Echowood with Nina Walsh. He has also released one highly acclaimed instrumental album, MAPS, which was produced with a booklet of his own poems. Gary plays guitar with the amazing shoegaze orientated Daniel Land and is co writing some of the songs for Daniel's new album.
