Following the launch of his brand new tongue in cheek event and mixtape series ‘The Sextape Series’ last year, Ben Pearce is back with the second instalment with a brand new mix and six UK tour dates. 

The Sextape Series sees Ben delve deep into his record box – providing a series of free disco infused mixtapes alongside a string of disco dedicated gigs across the UK, allowing Ben to share his love of disco, funk, soul and everything in between. 

Diverse, quirky and solid music-focused venues such as London’s The Old Queen’s Head, Cardiff’s CYNT and Newcastle’s Apex will play host to Ben’s Sextape-inspired nights of grooves and good vibes, perfect to warm you up this autumn. 

On his side-project, Ben says "The Sextape idea started as a podcast. It was born from fun, tongue in cheek music. The parties expand on that, they're so much fun to play and be at. It's amazing to see local DJ's pull out some music that they might not have got to play before. That's what it's about for me, everybody on the same level having a great time, no snobbery over music selection, disco is cheesy... get over it!"

Ben announces the next set of Sextape Series dates following a packed summer of dates including a residency at Ibiza’s leading underground party at Ushuaia, ANTS,  a multitude of European festivals, a US tour as well as some of the UK’s best festivals – Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, We Are FSTVL, Parklife and South West Four to name a few.

'My plan for the remix was to keep it simple and strip the track right back. I wanted to experiment making more of a driving techno track. For the remix I was lucky enough to borrow my mates 909, I just played around till I found a groove that worked over Tiga's original production. Tiga is back to tell you what you’ve always needed to hear with his new single “Eye Luv U.” Co-produced by one half of Paranoid London, the new single harnesses all the pure source energy of what enlightened club-goers often describe as their favourite emotion. 

“The title came to me while I was playing a pyramid that had been converted into a multi-purpose event space,” says the Canadian DJ/Producer. "The hieroglyphics over what is now the coat check made me imagine a world in which pictures could mean words and words could mean anything. The thing about wordplay is that it’s fascinating to conceive of different realities informed by different systems of meaning, and how each reality would invariably bend to vault me to the pinnacle of all possible worlds. It’s humbling, really.”

Rising Scottish talent Jasper James darkens the tone considerably on his remix, which would not be out of place at a classic off-the-grid warehouse rave. But not so fast, because Butch’s equally great “80s Warehouse Acid Remix” also lays claim to that warehouse, challenging what it means to be “warehouse” in an age when corporations pay people to throw parties in what used to be underground settings. 

“Warehouse is a state of mind,” adds Tiga helpfully. “It’s that indescribable feeling that transports you back to the first time you read an oral history about dance culture. I read one sponsored by Mountain Dew about three years ago, and I’ve never looked back.”
