Maoz Tzur is a poem that I haven't added to a lot of Chanukah shows because I struggled with it from a composition standpoint. I wanted to write a melody for it because the words were so powerful but I just didn't get around to it. Then, this week, it hit me and I recorded this little acoustic verison. We'll put this on an album at some point. Maybe the new one...

An original arrangement for the prayer said by Moses in Numbers 12:13 for his sister, Miriam. Meditative and reflective, this is a prayer for healing. The words say "I beseech you, Gd, please heal her".

Home - Live At The Tree House

Recorded at a kitchen table in Denver, Colorado in December of 2019. This is a re-worked cover of Townes Van Zandt's "If I Needed You" and features Kolby Morris-Dahary.  

Kolby is a rabbinical student through Aleph and works as a Student Rabbi at Judaism Your Way (https://www.judaismyourway.org/). She does incredible work in her community and is an amazing artist. 

In the second verse, we use the line "Ahavat Olam beit Yisrael am'cha ahavta", which means, "With an eternal love have You loved the House of Yisrael, Your nation." 

This is a version of the song that I often use in the Friday Night service and just makes for a beautiful duet.
