Humors of Ballinafauna, Kiss Me SweetHeart, I'll Neither Spin Nor Weave

First recording of an Irish drum solo with 5 fingers on the front and 3 fingers on the back - at the same time. The front and back middle fingers are free to bend the drum head. The hand at the back of the drum is locked on the cross bar with three fingers available for backside thrashing.  Maybe I will call it Banshee drumming. The same right hand "rasgueo" technique for flamenco guitar can be used on the drum along with the usual other frame drum techniques.  Next thing I might try is dangling some paper clips around the top edge to get a bit of that Daz drum sound.

Original composition using various soft synths and FL Studio. Definitely leans to the jig side of things. As I recall the banshee voice was done with a synth called Gremlin and not anybody I knew personally or would want to know at least for more than a few minutes at a time.

Irish/Celtic dance tunes where the fiddle and the Bodhran have been changed out for electric guitar and drums and a few other related instruments. Hey, some people like to dance to a heavy beat and electric guitar.

Its the wailing banshee sitting on my shoulder whispering in my ear - "Just do it." she says. "See that guitar amplifier over there? Just plug your guitar in and go find a drummer that knows the difference between a slip jig and a set dance and maybe I'll stop my wailing..." I said "What good is a wailing banshee if she ain't wailing?"  She said, "What drummer will ever know the real difference?"
