This piece is the audio from my final performance for my degree with Honours in Music Practice, studied at the University of Central Lancashire.

The context behind the piece is to signify and musically represent some of the key features and struggles of schitzophrenia. It comprises of 3 movements, each having it's own focal point around the experiences of a sufferer of the disease.

The first movement is heavily repetitive and is meant to signify the ongoing routine of daily life whilst the condition lays dormant within it's potential sufferer.

The second movement signifies some of the key elements of the symptoms of schizophrenia, it gives off feelings of confusion, uncertainty, fear and loss.

The third and final movement is where the piece reaches it's climax and the condition is purged from our sufferer in a most emotional and dramatic fashion. The climax features a wide range of tonal qualities and instrumentation brought together in harmony to create the biggest sound possible.

Hi there, I'm Joel Ayre, I am a professional musician from Preston, UK.

I am a performer, promoter, producer and composer primarily but my musical skills extend into many areas.

I have recently graduated from a degree with honours in Music Practice at the University of Central Lancashire. I am currently awaiting classification.

My specialties are music and sounds for interactive applications such as audio-visual and video games.
