This compositions still bangs. I remember before starting BF1942 game I'd give this a listen a good few times before playing. A remarkable gaming anthem.

I used to fire up my pc and blast this intro during my workouts in my garage before I'd go run 10-12 miles when I was prepping for EMS training. And again at night when I would actually play the game! When 2142 released, I was just hired onto a medic rig, and so that slightly newer, crunchier version became my personal theme during that chapter. So many miles, runs, workouts, and missions with this theme, and variations thereof, playing either loudly over my Cerwin Vegas or Polks, or in my mental 'sound system' in the field. Revisiting the music for Battlefield 1942, 20 years later. Thanks to everyone that liked and played this music and for all fun comments during these years. This arrangement was the first iteration of the song. I aimed to recreate it true to the original but used some newer sounds.

Joel Eriksson is an accomplished game, film and pop music producer from Sweden. He made the theme music to Battlefied 1942, was half of The Similou with Erik Niklasson and released records as Jol.  
In 2000, Erikssson made the music for the acclaimed EA game, Battlefield 1942. The theme song is an iconic piece of music, ever-present in the sequels. The song has been covered by orchestras and fans worldwide. Eriksson has made music for films and TV. In 2006, he scored the music for the 7 miljonärer film. 
In parallel, Joel Eriksson started the Gonkyburg movement with Quant. As Jol, he released groovy music for Dot and April Records. Joel met Erik Niklasson from Plej and they set their sights on stardom as The Similou. In 2004, the duo had a pop hit with All This Love. Eriksson co-wrote hit songs for Japanese boy band Arashi.
Joel Eriksson has continued to make music for different audiences to this day. In 2021, he recorded a new version of the acclaimed Battlefield 1942 theme. He is currently working on game design projects.
