The Basement has been the hub of some of the most exciting recordings coming out of the South Coast in the past year, with artists who have gone on to receive extensive mainstream radio play, songs that have featured on national magazine CD releases, and EP's that were praised by the national music press. The engineers at The Basement have a wealth of experience, having worked for producers such as Pete Smith (Van Morrison, Sting, Joe Cocker), and with musicians including Phil Spalding (Bassist - Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue), for record labels including Fierce Panda, Sony and Small Town.

The Basement boasts a fantastically equipped Pro Tools set-up, using a sixteen channel I/O interface and a selection of Rode, Sure and AKG microphones, assisted by a UAD card with 1176, LA2A, Fairchild, Helios 69, Empirical Lab's Distressor, Pultec, SSL channel strip, Neve EQ, Trident EQ, Amplitube 3 amp simulation, Lexicon reverb, AutoTune and Abbey Road plug-in's. This is all powered by a dual-core macbook pro, monitored on M-Audio BX5s and Yamaha HS 50s.

Past and recent clients are too long to mention, though they feature Pint Size Hero, Emperor The Stag, Bastard Eye Scream, capital, Data Select Party, Dan Quanstrom, and Fleeing From Finales, to name a few.
