Florence Sinclair’s 2nd produced album “It’s a big man ting” is a compilation of songs and samples that tell a story of a young black british boy and  his journey from life on the road side to reaching a growth with his inner self and feelings. From a surface level desire, to a selfless reflection and awakening of how he sees  the world around him.
The album is a homage, ingrained with UK influences.

a. I think this mix is perfect to listen to surrounded by friends in a inebriated state. It’s made for smiling

q. is there a story behind the mix? how did it come together? 
a. I recorded this mix after a storm and violent wind that uprooted the 200 years old oak tree in the garden, so this mix is a soundtrack for a rebirth, it’s dedicated to him, rip wise man.

q. in your opinion, what would be the ideal circumstances to enjoy your mix?
 a. just relaxing, but staying vibrant, letting your soul and your body navigating from one move to an other. or maybe chilling, alone or with someone, cooking, running, driving, biking, travelling, painting, working, sitting somewhere watching randomly people, doing magic, making yourself a pleasure, they are so many daily reasons to listen ambient piece.

Aural Oral explores a meal in the form of a sonic and performative moment in agricultural research, proposing a sensorial reflection of both processes of cultivation and consumption. The meal pairs an auditory archive of its ingredients with its ingestion; each accompanying track sketches a sonic cartography of the dish, amplifying the micro-actions of both the farm and the kitchen through the implementation of various microphones. The ambient soundscape posits an examination of subtle processes, offering a sensorial relationship with the meal that extends beyond the domain of the gustatory.

These tracks explore the effervescent and symphonic realm of mezcal fermentation, followed by the fabrication of an ancestral soilbed technique implementing mud solely accessible via canoes in the lacustrine ecosystem of Xochimilco. The piece continues with amalgamated sounds of cooking with fire that presents a recipe as a musical score, followed by the juxtaposition of whirring cars and melodic bumbling of bees inherent to an urban garden that propose a reflection on the contrasting momentums of the urban and transposed-rural. All recordings were created for a performance at Museo El Eco during Material Art Fair in Mexico City and feature collaborations with Cocina Colaboratorio, Chinampa Tlazolteotl, Huerto Tlatelolco, and Yola Mezcal. I’m Joel, I’m from Aveiro, Portugal and I work as web developer. I’m passionate about discovering music from any genre, specially artists from different decades that were overlooked in their time.

q. is there a story behind the mix?

I wanted to do something that I felt it was a good addition to the great Living Room catalog. So I had the idea to pay tribute to the late 00s and early 10s ambient/drone cassette culture. So you can expect a very warm, lo-fi and sometimes psychedelic mood.

q. what's the best way enjoy your mix?

I would say either with headphones or speakers, on a calm Saturday morning, with a nice breeze coming through the window.

q. describe a favourite object in your living room...

Probably my turntable, a vintage Philips 212 that my father restored with solid wood. It’s very modest but looks nice and works like brand new.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

After moving this year, I’m finally building a small workshop + studio to do some crafts and record some music. I’ve recorded a few things in the past, mostly guitar based ambient, nothing too serious, and I’m looking forward to start again where I left.  

I also make regular mixes Rádio Paranóia, taking also care of the radio website.

I'm IRL (a. harvey.) I’m a sound artist and independent scholar based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal.

q. is there a story behind the mix? how did it come together?

This mix was recorded during a late September sunset, in my studio in the Chabanel district. I always record my mixes live, meaning they’re mostly improvised. Generally, I work with a bank of songs I’m feeling and go from there. This one attempts to mimic the last dregs of summer: balmy late night thoughts, old memories bubbling up. 

q. in your opinion, what would be the ideal circumstances to enjoy your mix?

In a quiet, comfortable space. During a slow burn, orange sunset. Maybe close to the earth, close to nature, close to water. 

q. describe a favourite object in your living room…

A candelabra that a brilliant ceramicist/friend [Diane Garcia Ramos] made. It was recently broken by a houseguest, so where it used to hold 3 candles, it now holds 2. It’s a sacred object, I still love it dearly even damaged. 

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

So many! I’m working on a podcast about sound/healing, set to come out in the spring of 2023. Also, two sound installations, another mix for my fav MTL label, a track for a special comp, grad school applications, and an LP. My work brings me so much joy <3
