When a record label brings together artists like Ripperton, Tigerskin, Rone, SIS, Sascha Dive, Siopis, Dennis Cruz, Inxec, Switchdance and Los Suruba to name just a few, a 10th anniversary seems to be the natural flow of things. Suruba X started its journey in 2009 when the minds of Alvaro and Delmar joined forces to create an electronic, deep and dark imprint to express their most sophisticated musical curiosities.

Once more art and music are blended in a 26-track compilation that highlights the gems of the label from the last ten years. This album is meant to show you a sample of the scope of Suruba X and all the potential that it has gained over the past decade. 

The dark side of anything is appealable to anyone and this is Los Suruba´s dark, and demanding side where the duo play with styles that oscillate between down tempos, melodic techno vibes, and intense vocals with deep meanings, electric synths and penetrating bass.

The artwork comes from Delmar´s passion for street art.  He picked for the covers a particular artwork, the Brazilian Pixaçao. This is a controversial style of graffiti that mainly transgresses the visual image of most of the public spaces of cities throughout Brazil. Its aesthetics infringes hegemonic aesthetics, which is why it´s criminalized. They found this particular style to align with their sweet escape thorough shameless vocals and naughty beats. 

A must have in any music lover´s collection that assures a trip, a dream and a dance.

Hot Creations label boss Jamie Jones joins forces with Cuttin’ Headz curators The Martinez Brothers for the first time to present the anthemic Bappi, an unmistakable powerhouse of a track that has been setting dancefloors alight all summer at their respective DC10 Ibiza residencies.

The A side features title track Bappi, a trademark bassline opens the record, developing with playful strings and sirens before distinctive Indian vocals are teased in, shifting the energy as it unfurls into a big-room Hot Creations hit. On the B side, Bappi (Warehouse Mix) magnifies the groove, as head nodding kicks combine with darker synths, creating an acid-tinged, smoky rework of the original. Look out for the Warehouse Mix dropping November 1st.

Spanning the last decade, world renowned DJ and producer Jamie Jones has pioneered his own definitive sound. His global event series Paradise is now in its eight season at the magical Ibiza home of DC10, whilst also landing in cities like Miami, New York, LA, Moscow and Toronto. As it nears 150 releases, helping to shape the careers of Patrick Topping, Detlef and Richy Ahmed in the process, Jones and his label continue to cement a place in dance music history. House favourites The Martinez Brothers are near completion of another stacked summer schedule that has seen them throw their Cuttin’ Headz parties on the White Isle for the first time, as well as playing at Circoloco, Paradise and Music On. Firmly established as one of the biggest names in the industry, releasing their own productions and that of other big hitters like DJ Sneak, Loco Dice and Guti on their Cuttin’ Headz label, they have also recently mixed the latest edition of the Fabric presents series.

For their big debut on Moon Harbour, CamelPhat have linked up with Cari Golden, the voice of modern house music, for a superb new single that comes backed with a remix from label head Matthias Tanzmann. 

British duo CamelPhat have risen from the underground to go on to global prominence. Their big house sounds often feature guests and collaborators, but none were more successful than their Grammy-nominated smash hit 'Cola' with Elderbrook. They have released on labels like Defected, Sola and Snatch! and now serve up another of their timeless tunes with Cari Golden, who has featured with the diverse likes of Groove Armada, DJ T and Roger Sanchez on plenty of Beatport number ones. She can sing on sunny boat party sounds as well as raw warehouse tunes with equal style, and here offers something brilliantly intense. 

The intoxicating 'Freak' is a high impact affair designed for big rooms. The techno tinged drums are overlaid with Golden's paranoid vocals. Her dark delivery is matched by the turbulent bass and taught synths that add to the sense of tension that will sweep the dance floor off its feet. 

Remixing is main man Matthias Tanzmann, who is in fine form as he strips things back to a bubbling, pressurised Tech House groove. He layers in sweeping white noise, chattery claps and the original vocal as well as plenty of freaky effects to make for a track that will flip dancers inside out. 

This is another high-grade release from all concerned.
