Radikal Technologies RT451 Stereo Multimode Filter

This little track demonstrates some of the sonic possibilties of the new Radikal Technologies RT451 Multimode Filter. I created some drum sounds with the RT451 and some modules of my doepfer modular system. I imported the samples into the Spectralis and created a couple of grooves. Then I programmed the step sequencer and triggered the Doepfer again but this time with two oscillators fed into the RT451.

This was the final track I produced for the Quasar synthesizer. The track is contained as a bonus track on the Raven demo cd.

Quasimidi Quasar Demo "Fat World"

An interactive installation for two Oscillators, one filter, one LFO and one BBD Delay. Postprocessing with a NI Replika Delay.

The composition has been transposed and limited to a frequency range audible for human beings.

Live Performance with the step sequencer of the Spectralis. I changed the direction of the sequence and worked with the skip function to create variations of the sequence in the mid section.

Pure Accelerator sound without external FXs. I improvised over some of the FX sound chain of the factory presets I created for that synth. I recorded that in one go - the voice remain feature allows for selecting and adding new sounds while holding down some notes of the former performance. Not even the FXs get interrupted. I recorded the demo with the basic 8 voice version.

Just listen to the bizarre Delay Feedback FXs in the second third of the demo. After doing some experiments with this astonishing delay we decided to add the string filter to the sound engine. The string filter is mainly a delay - but with two damping filters. But as a second result, the delay can be tuned in halftones.

RT-311 Swarm Oscillator & RT451 Dual Multimode Filter & Replika Delay

I created some new samples for the Spectralis II before I recorded that jam session. All sounds from the Spectralis DSP engine - so all drum sounds and FXs - have been programmed on my little eurorack system and sampled afterwards with sound forge. I am using the following modules for this example:
RT-311 Swarm Oscillator
RT-451 Dual Multimode Filter
A-147 VCLFO
The soundcraft signature MTK22 mixing desk internal FXs tape delay and room reverb.

The pitch input of the oscillator has a scale quantizer. The Scale Quantizer allows for converting a continuous control voltage into a music scale.

The oscillator swarm offers some chord presets, that can be used as tuning sets for the swarm. I fed the oscillator into the RT-451 dual multimode filter. The cutoff frequency is under control of an ADSR envelope.
Finally I put a little delay onto the demo.

The parameters of the RT-311 can be automated by interpolating between different snapshots of sound settings. There is even an interpolator data output for the control of additional modules. In this example the RT-451 Dual Filter module is connected to this output.

You are listening to waveform, pitch and TLM modulation, FM etc. changing continuously over time and you probably have never heard before that all these parameters are changing simultaneously.
