Following recent appearances on Permanent Vacation, Mute and Correspondant, Terr makes a triumphant return to Phantasy with a deeply dreamy new single, ‘Wings of Time’. Marking Terr's third appearance on the label, and her first since 2019, 'Wings of Time' is complimented by a momentous remix from Tornado Wallace.

‘Wings Of Time’ serves to underscore Daniela Caldellas’ talents as both a producer and performer, a songwriter and a master of dancefloor atmosphere. Terr’s assured vocal performance once again takes front-and-centre, a warm beckoning light through a journey made of shimmering pads, wistful chords and defined by a powerful sense of groove. An instrumental edition further highlights the arrangement, which resolves with rare, cosmic catharsis.

Tornado Wallace appears to stretch the time Terr sings of on his elastic, tunnelling remix, grinding out every inch of tension and detail from the blueprint, expanding minds and widening eyes in the process. While Terr’s original will likely send dancers to the heavens, Wallace reverses the energy source for an unexpectedly bass-heavy interpretation that generates a different, earthier pleasure.

Oh boi. The impeccable Henrik Schwarz redubbing Sven Väth's classic 'Electrica Salsa' - a truly remarkable feat.

The track was first released back in 1986, when Sven (at the age of 21) was a member of Frankfurt project OFF, alongside Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti. ‘Electrica Salsa (Baba Baba)’ changed the face of electronic music in European pop culture, achieving top three success in France, Austria and Germany at a time when dance music was still regarded as an underground movement from Detroit and Chicago. 30 years later, Sven enlisted Henrik Schwarz and Roman Flügel to provide remixes of the track.

Best known for his work on Innervisions, !K7, and Defected Records, and acting as one half of the acclaimed duo Schwarzmann alongside Frank Weidemann - Schwarz has dedicated almost his entire life to electronic music production. The atmosphere created in his newly formed Electrica Salsa is one with gated reverberated snares and percussive hits, little melodic stabs, and sneaky space synths to what makes one feel as if they are inside the Mos Eisley cantina... with Sven Väth whispering in your ears. Keys in the ignition, no turning back: Dubfire and Miss Kittin are about to take us on another late night road trip. And this time there are two very special ways to ‘Ride’… Plotting new routes from where they last dropped us off in 2014 with ‘Exit’, and presented in Miss Kittin’s own artwork, the two long term friends and musical kindred spirits cover a side each with two version journeys you’ll never forget. Kittin jumps straight on the autobahn in a tank-shaped techno hummer. Thumping the tarmac down with every gas-guzzling kickdrum, lights blur and trace and the mission gathers momentum as we cruise almost majestically into a brighter unknown. Dubfire brings us back home via the trusty widescreen house plains. Roads running parallel with the grand, emotional highways he once took as Deep Dish; the vanishing point is far on the horizon where a vast sky of twinkling stars opens up with a feeling you could ride for days on end. Unhurried, restrained and timelessly crisp and futuristic: trips like this don’t come about very often… The keys are in the ignition, care to take a ‘Ride?’

The third Realm Of Consciousness compilation on Tale Of Us’ Afterlife Recordings is the label’s most complete statement so far.

The four-vinyl opus opens with Tale Of Us’ now anthemic ‘Nova’, a high-impact and well-loved staple of their sets this year. Agents Of Time continue with the percussive rattle of ‘Paradigm’, before the first released collaboration between luminaries Recondite and Henrik Schwarz shines with understated melody.

Amongst Mind Against’s eerie masterpiece ‘Portal’ and impressive first appearances on Afterlife from Scuba (as SCB) and Steve Rachmad (as Sterac) are ethereal contributions from Fideles, Ovend and Øostil. UK techno veteran Edit Select channels the darker, hypnotic spirit of Afterlife with ‘Phase In’, setting up the sprawling, 14-minute epic from Luigi Tozzi and Antonio Ruscito.

To begin the compilation’s fourth disc, Konstantin Sibold & Kosme’s ‘Cyclone’ lifts the tone, leading into a more introspective sound from Hunter/Game on ‘Changing Weather’. Upcoming German talent Kevin De Vries follows with his infectious cut ‘Mágoa’ and Tone Depth ends the odyssey in mesmerising style with ‘Ibn Sina’.

The full spectrum of Tale Of Us’ Afterlife label is on display here, as they continue to push the envelope with a high-quality and diverse selection of artists.
