Liar(Queen cover)

A cover of the Harry Nilsson...yes...cover of a song written and originally performed by classic British band, Badfinger.  
I did my best to emulate what Harry did, as his was/is the 'definitive' version of the song (in my opinion). Starts out exactly like his 1971 version and "blossoms" into a heavy and lush power ballad attempt (hope you all like it).  A late Mother's Day/Anniversary gift for my wife, Jen. 
As with the previous "Liar" cover (early 'Queen'), I did the (at times) tedious recording of up to 36 vocal tracks in bigger stuff toward the end of the song. Programmed the drums, bass and orchestral parts, then recorded the bass, guitars and vocals. Hope everyone likes. If not, tell me why.  It helps me fix things and do better work in the future.

Hey, everybody! I posted this track last year (and have so far gotten over 2,000 listens -- THANK YOU).  This NEW and IMPROVED version features actual and real drums (recorded by my friend, Frank Pavlovcic) as opposed to last year's version, which has fake drums.  Enjoy!

Without You (Nilsson Cover - 2016 Special Edition)

This is (obviously) not me but my friend and neighbor, 13 year old Haley Whittaker.  This is the first recording Haley has ever done.  She approached me with interest that she wanted to sing and record something and this Hayley Reinhart version of the classic tune (originally popularized by Elvis Presley) is something she had wanted to do for a long time.  For her debut session, the kid walked in and NAILED IT.  I wanted to post this debut track from her to showcase that this kid is a natural. Please give one up for Haley.

Can't Help Falling In Love With You (Haley W.)

My good friend, Sean Sethi and I did this tune a few years ago.  He came to me with two chords on his acoustic guitar (the two recurring chords heard at the beginning and periodically throughout the song) and we built the rest of the song from there.
Sean did the drums, help with ideas for all of the different parts, doubled me on all of the intricate harmony vocals, wrote the lyrics and sang lead from verse 1 through chorus 2 (before the guitar solo).
I did the guitars, bass and orchestral programming, along with doubling Sean on all the harmony parts and sang lead in the final chorus (after the guitar solo).
If you want spacey and trippy, then choose your intoxicant of choice, sit back and get metaphysical with Sean and me. (Creepy.  I sound like I'm writing our joint description on "Tinder").
This was intended to be part of a much larger prospective "concept album" but we (as of yet) haven't gotten around to doing anything else with it.

01 - PC 2003(Original)

Did this one with two acoustic guitars (panned left and right).  I didn't have a mandolin, so I used my Danelectro 12-string guitar, tuned like the main guitar parts (DBGDAD), with a capo at the 7th fret (to approximate the mandolin range). Did this one to honor a special request.

Going To California (Led Zeppelin Cover)

Glossy rock pop with my (Jewish) friend, Dan Bober, doing the lead vocal part and me doing the counterpoint and backing harmony vocals. Finished back in early 2002. (Oldie). Recorded on a Roland digital 8-track recorder (lots of "ping pong" and "bounce" work). Fun.

16 - Jewish Girls(Original)

This track was composed shortly after the events of September 11, 2001. Sort of an attempt at a tribute.  I basically did the whole thing, myself. Programmed all drums, orchestral strings and synthesizer keys in my (friggin' ancient) Kawai K5000W sequencer keyboard. Guitar was a combination of my Fender Stratocaster and my Ibanez RG 700.  Recorded on my (friggin' ancient) Roland Digital 8-track recorder.  

Heavily inspired by the likes of Steve Vai, John Petrucci and Brian May.

The sound quality is (in my opinion) very dated but in a composition sense, I'm happy with it. Maybe I'll do an updated re-recording someday...

Frank and I spent over 2 years getting this monstrosity finished. I gave him the basic guitar and vocal tracks and he wrote and recorded this absolutely fantastic drum and bass rhythm section.  Then he filled up any gaps with piano, organ, strings and synth (while I laid down the endless sea of layered vocal harmonies).  Lots of notes, for those who like them. Something for romantics and prog-rock heads, alike...
