No money, no honey goes the saying. So, with that in mind, Honey Soundsystem Records returns to the aisles of your favorite (and least favorite) record stores with a money $hot 12 inch. Honey Soundsystem has been on the road seemingly non-stop, visiting foreign cities and meeting delightful characters on the way. This EP is a “tour diary” of sorts, 4 tunes that have been road tested to the nth degree and now we want our friends, fans, and foes to have them too.

A1 features a track by San Francisco’s Sepehr - the most ID requested track from our Chapter 10 Boiler Room finally revealed. A2 is by Stockholm’s Henrik Bergqvist, a tune Jackie got his hands on after a crazy night of MDMA and accidentally voguing on top of Henrik’s computer bag. Derrick Carter approved the use of his voice as long as it said “Snatched from DC” thanks Derrick. B1 is by the Twink-porn worthy brothers from Berlin: Morven Son - a horny moderne Electro classic featuring a secret sample from one of the more fabulous 90s movies about a sex worker. B2 is a hidden gem demo from Bogota’s Lunate. While visiting Bogota to play a gig at the legendary Video Club, locals kept pointing their finger at one guy when referencing the man in town making the music we needed to hear. That guy was Lunate and this one of those beautiful and simple tunes you can play at the beginning, middle, or end of any night.

The best news about this release? Everyone behind these tracks are genuine people with great hearts. The honestly comes through when listening and playing them out, you’re gonna love the way you they sound, I guarantee it. Oh, and some dope artwork by Bad Mariah.

Based in Warsaw, Newborn Jr. who goes by the name of Adam Brocki is widely known for his collaborations with fellow Polish producer Earth Trax on labels such as Rhythm Section, Phonica Records, Les Yeux Orange and more.
Newborn Jr. has a flair for combining an array of styles which is reflected on his debut solo release on the King Of Kong imprint in addition to his outings on Rekids and Oblique Music under his Private Press alias. ‘World Museum’ follows King Of Kong’s inaugural release from Anton Klint & Edvin E featuring a remix from Newborn Jr. and picking up support from the likes of PBR Streetgang, Massimiliano Pagliara, Jennifer Cardini and Red Axes. ‘What What What’ kicks things off with shimmering, rhythmic percussion fused with zappy synth shoots and chopped vocals floating within before CockTail d'Amore’s artist Yourhighness changes up the style with an alleviating house remix of ‘What What What’ balancing majestic pads and swirling leads. ‘World Museum’ then maintains the graceful atmosphere through chugging, bass notes, healing sonics and tasteful atmospheres that hypnotise yet energise you all the same. ‘NJ Public Pool’ provides a bright and blissful feeling throughout as the breezy elements graciously harmonise with the deep-riding low end and undulating dreaminess until Warehouse Preservation Society made up of LA’s TK Disco and Tavish DJ round off proceedings with laid-back remix of ‘NJ Public Pool’ employing rapturous vibrations and sultry grooves.

Joyce Muniz is a DJ, producer and singer from Vienna with Brazilian roots, who has been making waves around Europe for a number of years. 

Now relocated to Berlin, Muniz has a string of amazing releases on the likes of Exploited, K7!, Get Physcial and 2020 Vision. On Steve Bug’s flagship label, Muniz now drops What’s Your Name with the hugely talented Demetrius on vocal duties.  

The full version is a tough tech house groover, the bumps and swings via a sick rhythm section and thick, rolling bass pulse. Demetrius’s low slung vocals add to the sleezey, edgy vibe of the track. 

The instrumental offers DJs a vocalless version that really lets the bass come to the fore.
