My vision on turmoils d side character is either luigi or waliugi but instead of eating a mushroon infused yoshi code. It might be a red yoshy code infused fireflower. So to catch prey they dont use thier tounge they have firebreath so they can eat

Their skin will be red to match the red yoshi and instead of being blind theyre deaf

Now, for d side bfs design. Instead of being a goomba, he will a purple shell koopa
