Foresta's debut EP will be released on the 28th of February 2014 and will be available as a free download on  Soundcloud and Bandcamp. Since the release of the „Youth Riddim“, Foresta has been working on his own productions, some of which have been released on the albums of various artists over the past couple of years. This time around, he has not entirely distanced himself from a Reggae sound, but rather has found a way to combine it with Soul, Hiphop and jazzy elements. His instruments of choice are rhodes and piano. A number of musical guests graced his home studio where the programmed beats were enhanced with live instruments.  

We now present to you six exclusive songs that will give you an insight into the producer's musical creativity. Foresta, the youngest member of the Urban Tree family, spent the last four months locked up in his home studio to finish his long awaited EP on time for the release date. A number of videos and small activities surrounding the EP are still to come. 

The EP features a  fusion of Hiphop and beats combining Soul, Jazz, Reggae, Dub and Pop. The vocals to be heard here are from artists that hail from precisely these genres, artists that he has met somewhere along on his musical journey through the years or that made it into his humble home studio.   

For his EP Foresta had the pleasure of working with two of the most successful and promising artists in the Jamaican Reggae scene: Kabaka Pyramid and Protoje; Berge belong to the pick of what the German Pop scene has to offer, Foresta's label colleague Simon Grohé  is currently working on his own release „Mamaoerf“; Danny Ranks and Longfingah have both belonged to the German and Austrian Reggae and Dancehall underground scene for decades and have shared their music with crowds on both small and large stages all across Europe; with Benjie - another Urban Tree colleague - he has a veteran of the German dancehall scene on board; Jaqee from Rootdown Records shares her music with her fanbase from Denmark to Germany to France and Uganda.

For lovers of Roots, lovers rock, reggae and dancehall comes Samoan reggae sensation J Boog. 

J Boog is a man of many influences. The singer of Samoan descent was born in Long Beach and raised on Compton, California. Growing up in the rough streets of Compton, the strong sense of tradition and culture that J Boog absorbed from his family was instrumental in his path to stay off the streets and begin a successful music career.
His new album, "Back Yard Boogie" is slated for release in 2011 and features some reggae giants like Richie Spice, Tarrus Riley, Fiji and Morgan Heritage, as well as Hip-Hop superstar Snoop Dogg. J Boog is excited about the future and all the amazing progress he's seen in such a short time.
At the age of four, after hearing his older sister playing the piano, he developed an interest in it and started watching her and learning about music. Soon, J was singing along to the notes &amp; melodies he heard his sister play. A while later, she brought home a Bob Marley song book. Even at this young age, J knew Bob's name and his music. Upon hearing his sister begin to play, something clicked inside J. He hasn't been the same since.

The first time J Boog sang for a crowd, he was nine years old. It was a large family reunion at a church and there were about 200 people present.
J's mother and sister insisted for him to sing Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time" and J obliged them. Though he was nervous, it went quite well.
J Boog's music career became serious in 2005, when he caught the ear of his favorite ratios, George "Fiji" Veikoso". The two began working together immediately and J ended up moving to Hawaii in 2006 to continue developing his craft. After releasing his debut album "Hear Me Roar" in 2007, he joined the musical family Wash House Music Inc, a record label based in Hawaii and San Francisco.
A year later, in 2008, J Boog met Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage and there was an instant chemistry. Gramps was keen on working with J,
and set out to make a way. Shortly after, Gramps, J Boog and other Wash House family members were in Jamaica recording in such prestigious places as Bob Marley's "Tuff Gong" Studio, Don Corleone's "Hit Maker", Bobby Digital's "Digital B", Shaggy's "Big Yard", Sugar Minott's "Youth Man Promotion" and more.
The results are apparent when listening to Boog's new music. It is authentic Island Music and genuine Jamaican reggae at the same time. Truly a new and exciting combination. There is a natural theme to Boog's writing: love. It recurs throughout his work and never once seems contrived. When you listen, you will feel he truly knows matters of the heart.

Featuring five tracks from the upcoming album, The Seven Year Itch Sampler gives fans unrestricted access to Protoje’s creative process, and a deeper look into how his work has developed. The Seven Year Itch Sampler includes all previously released tracks from the upcoming album, including 'Arguments,' 'Dread,' 'JA,' 'Roll,' and 'Rasta Love' (featuring Ky-Mani Marley). Each track is accompanied by exclusive audio clips of Protoje explaining his creative process, as well as its own artwork designed by Taj Francis. Fans are also treated to a bonus live version of 'Dread,' recorded on the night of Protoje’s first performance at the renowned Jamnesia Sessions in Bull Bay, Jamaica.

 

According to Protoje “These songs were written over a 7 Year Period, hence the album title 7 Year Itch. I want this Sampler to give people who wouldn’t normally have access to my music, a chance to connect, and to understand why I choose to express myself in this way”.
