It's hard to believe I wrote this song around twenty years ago. This is a new recording at kitchenrocks studio in Queens, NY, with Jamie Cicero adding drums and guitars.  Engineered by Rob Visciano.

Joey Figgiani (pronounced: FIDGE-EE-ONNIE) was born in Great Kills, a small town on Staten Island, one of the five boroughs of New York City. He has worked as a professional musician for over twenty years, mostly singing and accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, harmonica and foot tambourine.  Mostly self-taught, he is an accomplished songwriter who also plays drums and piano.  He has performed and recorded music in close to half the cities across the United States-from Florida to Wisconsin, New York to California.   Along with his originals, his  cover reportior approaches a staggering 600 songs , ranging from the 50s to the early 2000s.  His specialties are Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley, Buddy  Holly and Dion.  He can easily sound like Bobby Darin with "Mack the Knife" or "If I were a Carpenter" then segue into Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, The Eagles to Eddie Vedder or Kurt Cobain.  His favorite eras of music are the 50s, 60s and 70s.  

While living in Nashville and sitting in at popular tourist spots: Tootsie's, Legend's Corner, and Rippy's, Figgiani eventually established a residence at The Hard Rock Cafe', and played dozens of writer's showcases at The Blue Bird Cafe', French Quarter Cafe', Cocktails, The Commodore Lounge and Caffeine.  Other gigs out of the city, in Franklin, Tennessee, and other states like Georgia, Alabama and Illinois, led to a move north-east to where he's resided for several years.  More recently, he is back home spending time with family and friends in NY.  

There are three full albums by Joey Figgiani for sale on-line: his 2004 CD, “Under the Memphis Sun” was recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis. It contains his versions of some of the blue-grass, country, rhythm and blues and gospel songs that were eventually combined to help forge rock and roll.  Also included are three original tracks and a remake of Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire.”  Three of the tracks were recorded in Nashville, with Elvis drummer, DJ Fontana and Country Music Hall of Famers, The Jordanaires on backing vocals. 

In 2006 he released his first all original album, "The Place Between Moving and Standing Still," also available on itunes.  Since his latest and second original release, "Nostalgia" he's been compiling dozens of other songs and is hoping to put out another record soon.
