In a way, each day is a day of thanksgiving to the Creator for the original people of Turtle Island. This doesn't mean that we don't enjoy turkey, pie and family as much as the next person, but at the same time the Thanksgiving myth largely shared in mainstream culture perpetuates a one sided view of a complicated history surrounding this holiday. This is a project we did with Nolan Warden from the Ethnomusicology department of UCLA. The samples were taken from a wax cylinder that was recorded in the 1930's. This was particularly cool project because DJ Shub's last name is General and so is the man recorded on the cylinder.  They're also both Cayuga from Six Nations reserve, so it's not too far off to think that they're related, hence the name "General Generations".  Here's a link to UCLA's Ethnomusicology post.
