JOEY FROM QUEENS (aka Super DJ Jay Dee) has been a well respected name in the music industry since the early 90’s, when at the age of 17 he first hit the NYC club scene. He quickly gained recognition for his work in the NYC nightclubs, on the radio, and for spinning at the hottest college parties in New York.

Joey became a major player in the NYC club scene in the late 90s, holding down some of the hottest residencies that the city had to offer and spent almost ten years playing the biggest nightclubs in Manhattan, Queens, and Long Island. Joey held four major residencies simultaneously (Cheetah, Exit, Limelight, and Spa) and caught the attention of industry professionals, ultimately leading to his being named Interview Magazine’s, “New York City Nightclub DJ of the Year”. Other legendary NYC clubs that Joey played include; Planet 28, Latin Quarter, The Tunnel and Lot 61.

Joey has played in over 1,000 venues, spanning dozens of cities and states during his career. He is now residing in South Florida and since 2003 has held residencies in several major Florida cities including; West Palm Beach, Miami, Orlando, Gainesville, Ft. Lauderdale, Vero Beach, Melbourne, Tampa, Daytona Beach, and Cocoa Beach.

Joey is a true “old school” DJ, a product of the NYC club scene that he was born into, a performance and show style DJ who relies on song selection, timing, vocal ability, and turntable skills. He has been compared to such crowd motivating DJ’s as Kid Capri and Funkmaster Flex, and his selection, skills and format are similar to celebrity style DJ’s such as DJ Vice, AM, Jazzy Jeff, Riz, and Skribble. Completely comfortable with the mic in his hand, his vocal skills will invigorate any party, and his timing and ability to read a crowd or a dance floor ranks up there with the very best of the best.

Joey may have gained his initial recognition for being one of the top Hip Hop DJs in NYC, having done parties with Jay Z, Missy Elliott, Fabolous, and T-Pain to name a few but over the last ten years Joey has added an expert knowledge of 80s, 90s, Rock, Reggae, House Music, and Video Mixing to his arsenal, enabling him to become one of the top open format DJs in the industry today.
