Week# Lost Claim

It was raining
Door-bell was ringing

We was on the tour bus a long long time
When our booking agent called us on the car phone line
"Boys the gig you had tonight just fell through,
but I been working like a dog and I got good news"

"There's a little road house near where you are
and if you sing country music you can play at the bar
sound checks at 7 so don't be late
cause I'm making 10% of what you get paid"

We pulled in the parking lot right on time
and were instantly takin' with their neon sign
It was pink and blue with a champagne glass
little bubbles poppin' in the neon flash

We looked at each other said, "I don't know"
Cause the sign said Rug-burns & Rainbows

There's a honkey-tonk on a county road
where the fellas' are friendly and the beer is cold
You wouldn't know its name unless its where you go

The inside looked like a honkey-tonk to us
so we got our equipment on offa' the bus
after sound check we started to imbibe
and thats when the cowboys started to arrive

They looked big and they looked mean,
but there boots were shiney and there blue jeans clean
all there belt buckles said Country Proud
and there wasn't one god-damn girl in the crowd

We started off our set in the usual way
with a blisterin' rendition of Glendale Train
by the second verse the dance floor was full
with cowboys a hootin and hollerin bull

By the 3rd set drinks lined the stage
from this nice fella Keith and his boyfriend Gabe
we played country music and they danced all night
till this fella touched another fella started up a fight

The sheriff came through and shut the whole thing down
so loaded up the gear and headed out a town
but after all those miles, after all these years
when Im sittin' with the boys and a couple a beers
and they ask me which was my favorite show
I tell'em it was Rug-burns & Rainbows
