HUЯRICANE - Baby Makin' Music 061 (Anjunadeep Explorations 2025 - Sunrise Sets Edition)

They say there are two certainties in life: death and taxes. Well, that and the fact that there is a new XI episode every 1st of the month at 10 in the morning. Although this month was a way bigger technical struggle than others to get the mix the way I wanted. I am really due for a holiday to reset and re-energize, and forcing creativity under these circumtances just doesn't work for me. I keep striving for some unreasonable perfection, and try to make every episode better than the last one. While wanting to improve yourself in principle is not a bad thing, I need to not lose track of what XI in essence is all about: digging for unknown songs and combining them into an eleven track showcase of everything I have enjoyed the past month, and enjoying the whole process from start to finish. I try to capture recent moods and expectations for the coming month, all the while keeping track of my progression as a DJ. And that not every mix ends up like a flawless diamond should not matter all that much. Sometimes I just need to refocus to get that straight. So here is your monthly certainty: eleven fresh tracks that hopefully deservedly will find their way into your streaming libraries. Now then, nothing left to do but to enjoy Dutch summer to the fullest; pull on a sweater, equip your raincoat and stare out of the window of the train while the drizzle trickles down. Embrace Radio 18 (August 2025)

The feeling of summer escaping your grasp always dampens my mood. Luckily there is always music as my emotional outlet. The process of creating these mixes every month can take quite some time. Gathering songs I like, creating a tracklist that tells the story I want to tell and that has a nice flow (which usually takes about a million tweaks), and then playing and recording the whole thing. But this month was different. The songs were just there from the start and I had zero doubts or second guesses. Without a doubt the fastest mix I created from A to Z, and maybe not so coincidentally also my one of my favorite XI's so far. I guess that is what happens when we let things flow their natural course and accept that not everything needs our intervention. So instead of mourning the end of summer, let's embrace it and enjoy the last days of warmth and sunshine and the outdoors to the fullest. I really hope you enjoy this one as much as I do. <3 Joey

XI - September 2025

I took my own advice from last month and went full nature mode for a little bit. Time away from screens and work, surrounded by mountains, trees and fresh air, just slowing down for a bit. It gave me the chance to reset, recharge and really think about what comes next. Stepping outside of the routine is never wasted time, it is what allows you to see things from a wider perspective.

Now that I’m back, I feel eager to dive into work again. At the same time, there are so many projects waiting that I don’t even know where to start. It’s quite overwhelming. I’ve always told myself: it’s not about tackling everything at once, but about taking small steps, one thing at a time, and trusting the rest will follow. Let’s see if I can take my own advice this time.

In the meantime, fall is arriving. Summer is amazing, but seasons always change, and personally, I don’t mind it. The shorter days, the colder air, the cozy atmosphere that seems to be everywhere. There’s something comforting about it, and I think that feeling made its way into this month’s episode too.

Maybe this mix can be a small reminder to take it step by step and enjoy what is, not what was. Hope you enjoy.

PS. next month is episode 100! And for that we will have a special episode. However, that does mean that the next episode will be uploaded little bit later than usual, but hopefully worth the wait 🔥
