The feeling of summer escaping your grasp always dampens my mood. Luckily there is always music as my emotional outlet. The process of creating these mixes every month can take quite some time. Gathering songs I like, creating a tracklist that tells the story I want to tell and that has a nice flow (which usually takes about a million tweaks), and then playing and recording the whole thing. But this month was different. The songs were just there from the start and I had zero doubts or second guesses. Without a doubt the fastest mix I created from A to Z, and maybe not so coincidentally also my one of my favorite XI's so far. I guess that is what happens when we let things flow their natural course and accept that not everything needs our intervention. So instead of mourning the end of summer, let's embrace it and enjoy the last days of warmth and sunshine and the outdoors to the fullest. I really hope you enjoy this one as much as I do. <3 Joey

DAYS like NIGHTS 411 - Woodstock @ Mysteryland

Autumn is always a time to slow down and reflect. Probably that is why I ended up making this a very introspective and emotional XI episode. October last year turned out to be the catalyst for everything that happened to me in the past 12 months and got me to where I am and who I am as a person today. It is weird listening back to last year's episode, because it transports me right back to the feelings and emotions of that time. It is also comforting to realise that even though I ended up going through one of the roughest patches I have experienced and at the time it all seemed meaningless and hopeless, in the end it all turned out alright. And life is funny like that. I am learning more and more to accept the things that are not in our control and to flow with the waves instead of swimming against them. To embrace the adventure in the uncertainty that lies ahead of us and to accept and love myself (that last one is the hardest). Having so many unique, amazing and loving people in my life that support me all the way, I can't help but feel super privileged. I am so incredibly proud to see all of you tuning in every month and to hear and read your lovely messages; I can't say this enough but it really means everything to me. Super8 & Tab Warm Up - Melbourne Sep '25

I took my own advice from last month and went full nature mode for a little bit. Time away from screens and work, surrounded by mountains, trees and fresh air, just slowing down for a bit. It gave me the chance to reset, recharge and really think about what comes next. Stepping outside of the routine is never wasted time, it is what allows you to see things from a wider perspective.

Now that I’m back, I feel eager to dive into work again. At the same time, there are so many projects waiting that I don’t even know where to start. It’s quite overwhelming. I’ve always told myself: it’s not about tackling everything at once, but about taking small steps, one thing at a time, and trusting the rest will follow. Let’s see if I can take my own advice this time.

In the meantime, fall is arriving. Summer is amazing, but seasons always change, and personally, I don’t mind it. The shorter days, the colder air, the cozy atmosphere that seems to be everywhere. There’s something comforting about it, and I think that feeling made its way into this month’s episode too.

Maybe this mix can be a small reminder to take it step by step and enjoy what is, not what was. Hope you enjoy.

PS. next month is episode 100! And for that we will have a special episode. However, that does mean that the next episode will be uploaded little bit later than usual, but hopefully worth the wait 🔥
