Response to Disquiet Junto 0728 Delete a note at a time.

Record a piece of music with a slow melody that repeats. Each time the melody cycles around, remove one note, until during the final repeat none of the notes in the melody remain.

The Junto projects are how I teach myself new skills. This one was synth and midi editing.

Jana Winderen’s ‘re_Surge’ is a remix of her track ‘Surge’, recorded during lockdown for the Touch:Isolation series. The recording was made on 16 March 2020 at a spruce tree. Planted on the family farm in 1907 by her great grandfather, the tree has lived through historical events for five family generations, including two World Wars, and now the COVID-19 pandemic. Jana is currently living on the farm with her mother and daughters, having moved there during the period of lockdown in 2020.

An earlier version of this track was published as part of the Touch:Isolation series.
