Into this postmodern, shrunken worldview, and viewing the array of instrumental beat artists from askance, comes Glen Porter. It oscillates between a learned minimalism and an earnest romantic attack. Shards of sensual restraint decorate a slow, cryptic soundscape. Hysterical, careening beats float on dormant sound-images. The pinnacle aches to be achieved, everywhere breathing. In an instant, the age-old question of age itself is answered: chaos gives birth to the uplifted. The legions await.
