Sonic Reverie: A Tale from the Enchanted North

A lone wanderer ventured into an enchanted forest in a land where the Northern Lights painted the sky with iridescent hues. The forest's ancient trees swayed to an ethereal rhythm while the snow beneath their feet echoed a distant beat.
Guided by the forest's whispers, the wanderer journeyed deep into the wilderness. As days turned into weeks, the seeker encountered a clearing where a single tree stood. Beneath it lay a pool of liquid ice, its surface resonating with a profound bass that seemed to emanate from the Earth itself.
The wanderer had found the source, a connection between nature and sound. They closed their eyes, merging with the forest's music, becoming one with the Earth's rhythm. At that moment, they discovered the profound relationship between art and the cosmos, a secret hidden in the heart of the mysterious land.

Bio/
Liuos seemed to arrive on the dub techno scene all at once with Terms EP, his potent debut on Cold Tear Records, but this was the culmination of two decades of experimentation and discipline. A unique mix of power and spaciousness, of both longing and will, Liuos' work stands out for its clarity and expansiveness. Working steadily from his modest studio in Finland, Liuos has quietly become a respected name in the world of dub techno, with releases on Cold Tear, Lucidflow, and spclnch, and remixes for Superordinate Dub Waves and Off Records (Belgium).

Liuos

The Robot Scientists are Markus Schneider and Stefan Maurer, two music connoisseurs, DJs and vinyl collectors from Saarbrücken, Germany. They are two of three behind Emerald & Doreen Records which they founded in 2011, with releases on the edges of Italo Disco, Dark Disco and Indie Dance. 

They also run the premiere and DJ podcast series Something Spæcial since 2013 which is one of the leading indie dance channels on Soundcloud. As DJs, they spin a highly energetic dark & brightly bouncing „all killer, no filler“ mixture of melodic, futuristic and psychedelic Indie Dance, Playa Tech and Space Disco.

Fast cars, Japanese whiskey and cigars with exotic island romances, Miss Zagato draws her sirens into the vortex of stolen moments and pain written in poetry and paradox. Miss Zagato was cofounder, coproducer and vocalist for Italo Disco/Dark Wave group Quattrovalvole in 2020-2021, with releases on international labels such as Oraculo Records, Disco Halal, Moodmusic, Secret Fusion, and Furioza. In late 2021 she set up her own analog studio in Wiltshire, where there are fewer speed cameras and more space for vintage race cars. Since then, solo and collab themes have popped up on some of the most vital platforms of the dark side of the force like, for instance, La Dame Noir, Kyma Komplex, Emerald & Doreen, Boite Music, Club Mackan, and Quixotical, just to name a few.

If there is someone who is an expert in designing the best sci-fi techno, it is the Argentinean Translate. His impeccable career spans across timeless space and time, populated with works of the highest quality and precision, whether on his own label or on labels across the known world.

This is why we feel enormously happy to have him on the label and also to be able to give it physical form with a vinyl release, as well as digital.

This five-track extended EP represents Translate's crystalline, scientific sound 100%, seasoned with well-managed minimalism, precision bleeps and hypnotic, mental arrangements.

All this is administered at different speeds and sensibilities, sometimes more galactic and mental and sometimes more dynamic and physical, but always futuristic and timeless.

A true luxury to have a talent like him in our house.

For more than two decades, Sebastian Russell has been crafting hypnotic and immersive techno, somewhere between light and shadow. After 19 years in London, he is now based in the south of France, in the heart of the Landes forest—a setting that seems to imbue his productions with an atmosphere both organic and mystical. For this EP, he delivers five tracks designed for the smoke-filled dancefloors of clubs and raves lost in the wilderness. John Monkman shot firmly into the limelight in 2015 with his collaboration with Pete Tong, plus a remix of Solomon Grey’s Twilight, which topped the Beatport charts reaching #1. He has since gone on to do more collaborations with Pete Tong and released on some the world’s biggest and most cutting-edge labels including Kompakt, Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical, which have all received high critical acclaim and support across the board. 2016 also saw him launch his own label Beesemyer Music. 2017 will be a standout year for Monkman, with music already signed to Rebellion, Crosstown Rebels, Noir and the fourth collaboration with Pete Tong in the pipeline. Expect to see big things from this London-based artist.
