Reflection Of Desire

One thing I learned from other creative endeavours is to ask for feedback. It isn't always easy. Particularly as I tend to feel everything through while deliberating my stylistic choices. Yet there's so much value in feedback... So don't hold back, please, I do invite you. Just keep it friendly.

Some background on how the track was made
This one revolves around a central Juno pad. The pad gives off a classic warm vibe that is barely noticeable, until a filter sweeps through it at the breaks. As a vocal I used a stock sample that came with my Octatrack. Nothing too creative there, unfortunately (I have to work on my singing meh). The bass is mostly just a sweet but simple sine wave saturated with Decapitator. For the percussion, I initially made a point of using only classic house elements like the rims and toms. But then I also added in a clap and a glitchy pattern that is more Micro House in style. I like it that way.

I suppose you can call this a slow grooving LoFi House track with its sense of space derived from Dub Techno and a detailistic, glitchy playfulness from Micro House.

Some theories rely on facts, others not so much. Internally consistent, elegant in their design, they may lack realism. But why limit yourself? Who needs realism if you can analyse a large clattering of bulky objects banging, rumbling and clanging in a vast expanse. Somewhere in there, you hear crickets chirping, a sheet of paper crumpling, the tv playing the excited voices of an impending insurrection somewhere across the globe. Nothing beats a good theory fiction.
