I would like to know how this sort of calmness can be transcended in to music… I love the rhythmic flavour you bring to calm feel of the second half of the track but still keep the calm flow where the mind can float awa:-) this is well done

Originally released on the landmark R&S album ‘In Order To Dance Vol. 5’, Dave Angel’s sublime remix of Sun Electric’s ‘Entrance’ is made available digitally for the first time. Hailed as one of his finest, Angel’s distinguished career has also delivered remixes for the Eurythmics, Orbital, Model 500, Ken Ishii and Gary Numan to name but a few.

First released back in September 1994 and nestled on side G of the ‘In Order To Dance Vol. 5’, Angel’s remix was in great company, with techno jewels from the likes of Carl Craig, Plastikman, Aphex Twin, Luke Slater, Basic Channel and Biosphere making this compilation album an essential purchase of the times!

In its original form, ‘Entrance’ was included on Sun Electric’s 1993 album ‘Kitchen’, a much-cherished long player from duo Max Loderbauer and Tom Thiel, who enjoyed a production career on WAU! Mr. Modo Recordings, ZTT and R&S Records ambient division Apollo Records.

In addition to the "Best Of Ambient" compilation from John Beltran, two remixes are made to honour one of our favourite electronic music producers of all time. The a-side gives us a reinterpretation of "Brilliant Flood" from rising star Kassem Mosse together with his studiomate Mix Mup. This remix smoothly pimps up the track whilst leaving the atmosphere of the original intact. On the b-side, Sven Weisemann made a composition as a tribute to John Beltran, which contains elements of different original cuts. The result is Sven's Glorify Tribute Mix, a dreamy epic adventurous nine-minute masterpiece in three parts.

For its 6th release, Bjarki and Johnny Chrome Silver’s bbbbbb Records welcome new signing EOD (aka Stian Gjevik) to their unholy alliance with his 'Swurlk EP'. The Norwegian born, strictly analog producer takes the label off-roading with four outstanding productions channelling ambient, electro and hard bloody techno.

Having released on imprints including Rephlex and WeMe Records, it was actually on Soundcloud that Bjarki discovered EOD’s music. After getting in touch, the scale of his work emerging as gigabytes of unheard music dating back to 2002 were exchanged, all of which was made without the use of a PC - an approach which speaks for itself through his instinctive, playful melodies.

'Swurlk EP' boasts an impeccable sense of arrangement, more like that of a composer, and even more impressive considering the absence of any computer. The title track opens with a velvety smooth synth melody building with bass textures. ‘Evenhark’ uses a broken beat framework to carry floating harmonies. ‘Swarm’ uses layer upon layer of stuttered percussion to build into a relentless techno cut. ‘ELCASET_TESTGROOVE’ pairs catchy, interacting melodies with pensive harmonies.

‘Swurlk EP’ is a must listen for fans of melodic electro and an exciting move from a label that continues to challenge all our fucking expectations.

John Beltran's 'Amazing Things' is released the 8th of April 2013 as a 2xLP + bonus 10" Limited Edition, 2xLP, CD and in digital formats.

After the well-received and career-spanning compilation that was 2011's Ambient Selections, John Beltran returns with a brand new album entitled Amazing Things, due for released on Delsin records in March 2013.

As a life long pioneer of ambient soundscapes, blissful downbeat and stirring techno, Michigan born John Beltran already has his place in history assured with a bulging back catalogue that takes in influential releases on vital labels like Peacefrog and R&S. This new 17-track album sees the man draw on his lifetime in music to craft an immediately timeless body of work that's stuffed with genuine musicality, pregnant with emotion and laden with organic blissfulness.

Since Beltran’s last original full length, he admits a lot has changed. "I'm using all new gear and virtual synths that I didn't have when writing Human Engine so it sounds different for sure. And let's just say that this album still wouldn't be finished had a friend not turned me on to the software Omnisphere."

Despite new tools and techniques, Beltran’s touch still shines through in his floating arrangements, opposing textures and organic resonance, as do the continued influences of favourite artists including Four Tet, Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood.

"There was no real plan [for the album]. Some of these songs ("Clouds Pull") are over two years old. This album is truly an accumulation of music inspired by my life as a new father but I didn't write these songs for an album per say. I guess it was just written with a lot of love."

Love - and feelings thereof - permeate the album from start to finish. Tracks like opener "Retrouvailles" immediately submerge you into a utopian world with the distant sound of a playground coming over like the backdrop to a daydream, whilst more kinetic, splintered efforts like "Het Leven is Mooi" recall the aforementioned patchwork beauty of Four Tet, and "Flower Power Submarine" carries you along on a warm summer breeze.

Importantly, dark is contrast with light throughout, so more sombre, melancholic drifts like "For Vangelis" sit next to the more uplifting violins and raindrop melodies of "Broken Machines". Overall a mature and hugely resonant album for grown-ups, Amazing Things is full of just that.
